Hmmm, probably not where I'd want to go for an Aston (ebay, that is), but someone's bailing already.

I have gone off the car now. Just cant see the point of it. Why buy the AMV8 when you can get a 2004 DB9 for the same money (or less, if you have to pay hefty AMV8 premiums)?
I thought it made much more sense early on when it had suspected price tag closer to £60k. However, I can easily see it edge towards £80k now.
Maybe its a ploy by AM, they've been giveing out fake rumours that the price is increasing, and on release it comes out at £60-65k, causing a stampede in the dealers!

...because the poeople who pay the premium for the car wont buy a DB9 because its soooo "2004". Besiedes, they have already "owned" one for 3 months, after the Continental GT and before the Ferrari 612...
The stampede is already there, with a long waiting list. Besides, if a car company CAN charge a certain amount, they will. They make cars to make money, afterall...
I am number 183 on the Aston Martin Mayfair's list for the AMV8. Apparently they are contacting the first 100 customers next month for deposits, then depending on how many drop out they will go further down the list. I was told that the Mayfair dealer has the largest allocation of any AM dealer in the world, they said they get about 100 DB9's a year. So in that case, what's your guess at how long I might have to be patient for?
Better start saving then! If you want to join the queue without paying a deposit go to Lancaster at Sevenoaks. They are presently operating a system where only the people near the front pay a deposit, so if you are say number 400, a LOI will do.

The bidding for the slot on a Swiss dealer's list has now finished with a 'winning' bid of £20,000 
This is for a LHD car, delivery expected around December 2005.
What are the chances of the dealer honouring the letter of intent to a different person, even if they pay the deposit? Looks like someone is gambling big time here - or am I missing something?
