Hello all. I've been thinking about changing my V8 for a V12. Does anyone know this car or have any comments on it?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

also, how do you think the V12's will depreciate? Will it be along the lines of the V8's or will they do better?

Thanks.

One word superb. I think thats a good buy rare colour great options and low miles.
I feel the V12 will be a far better buy than the V8 and should at least hold there money, or increase i hope.(Mines a keeper) I have watchted prices since 2011 and if anything the earlier cars have risen and the later cars have remained at around the same price , so i would say they are a good buy. They really are a special car.

I am just about to go out, but looking quickly at this car, I think it is the one that I made a record of when last sold. If so, it is the only Grigio V12 in the UK.

Will check later.

I've been lurking for a while.

Very nice colour (don't recall having seen another that colour) - strangely modern looking somehow??

Buying from Aston may attract a more rigorous inspection and prep work - tyres over 5??mm, discs always appear like new from the ones I've seen, etc. Plus you get the benefit of an Aston warranty.

I've been offered others similar via the Aston dealer network at pennies over £80, usually start at £85 and come down over several months if not sold, so not bad value, but not cheap either? They always sell quickly once around £80.

Not familiar with this dealer as not local to me.

If it's what you want and you like it buy it!!

I'm holding out for a specific spec and ideally slightly newer (just a wish no real reason as best to buy on condition), as soon as I see one I'm ready to go having done my research.

Lightweight seats would be a must for me as otherwise steering wheel seems too close to your legs?? But others would only want sports seats - each to their own :-)

Seen a few bad examples so check the history, paintwork, door mirror supports, etc.

Good luck!!

The car is cover by an Aston Martin bespoke warranty which includes Aston Martin emergency assistance as well.
Be sure to check this. The Aston Warranty is ONLY transferable in a private sale. Only an authorised Aston dealer can provide the Aston warranty.
Factor this in, if it's not legit warranty transfer/provision then you will need a pot to put that warranty on it (about £1800).

Otherwise, what a cracker, mileage, colour, spec, real sweet.

Never tested this theory, and wouldn't want too, but ...

If a dealer was assisting a vendor by advertising and displaying a V12V, in return for a commission on a private sale, is that how Aston / the warranty provider would view it?

Are they a broker or a vendor, did title transfer, etc?

Any lawyers able to comment?

So, is this car advertised on behalf of the owner or by the owner?

Best to buy at the right price and have some money in your pocket? You decide what's the right price of course

Rumour is these cars are pretty sound, so get a pre purchase inspection to ensure what you're buying is sound perhaps?

Let us know if a SoR or trader owned car??

If SoR would it be safer warranty wise to pay the private owner directly, or would your statutory rights be better buying from the trader but potentially voiding the warranty - nightmare - best buy cheaper or as if warranty wasn't provided, money in the bank or procure a warranty yourself / via the trader?

Good luck!!

Quarterly,
Yes, this is the car where I have details of the last sale.
It is the only known Grigio Titanio V12V in the UK.

First reg. 11 Feb 2010. One owner until November 2013, when it was sold quickly by the Ferrari dealer in Egham. The mileage then was 8061 miles, and the asking price was £74,850.

That's a fantastic car. Perfect spec. I think I may have seen it parked next to my Tungsten V8VS at HWM once. Brilliant colour, I asked what it was. I'm guessing good V12Vs will bottom out at GBP80k going forward.

Never understood someone would buy an Aston in a Ferrari colour, its not as if Aston don't have 50 shades of grey to choose from. Yet to see a Ferrari in an Aston only colour. Each to their own though

For sure its a good move. I bought my V12V three years ago from a main dealer and if I wanted to replace it today for another V12V with similar spec & mileage then I'd be needing to pay about the same as I did three years ago - it's really suffered very little depreciation and they really do seem to have hit the bottom.

I'd like to change for a V12VS but it makes little financial sense as I'd lose on a V12VS whereas the V12V seems to be holding it's value quite nicely.

They are such a great car as well smile

I assume this is after the 3 year factory warranty has expired? Only asking as I may be selling my v8 and its 2 years old.

I am a novice when it comes to Astons. Bought mine a week ago.

My nervousness here might be the (too) low mileage. 2400/year - is that healthy for a car engine ?!

Just asking ...

It's not unusual. Astons are probably one of the most solid and reliable exotic cars. Sleep soundly... wink

Looks nice - has the B&O stereo which was a very expensive option on the original spec. Shame about the bucket seats, though; can't stand them myself, although many rave about them.

Just about everyone I know in the motoring world says "if you've got a V12V, keep it."

Lovely colour.

Definitely buy from an Aston dealer with all of the checks they have on brakes and warranty etc.

I'm trading mine against a 458 next year, I nearly did a week ago and trade in price was surprisingly good so they are holding up well.

Honestly thinking to keep another year because I'm worried that I will miss the car, they are special.
