Ahh, but for 80K would you rather have a mint conditioned, barely used, Newport Pagnell V8 Vantage?

550 bhp....

As crass as Julian Clarey and as large as Vanessa Feltz. Dreadful.

Oh god no. Way off beam old chap. Missed the point entirely.

Lovely and gorgeous though the new Aston's are, it would be a big mistake to deride the magnificence of Newport Pagnell's finest hour.

The V8 Vantage from that era is a magnificent old bus. Huge, heavy, hand built and possessed of massive character and presence.

If you get the chance you really should take a good look at one. Listen to its spectacular engine, take in the sheer hand-made nature of the monster.

Its the closest thing I can think of to a car -equivalent to a WW2 bomber. Its like a Lancaster.

Magnificent beasts.

err.. if a (very recent) second hand DB9 is now sub £100k - aren't they pushing it a bit with a specced up price of £90k or so (my dealer tells me £79,950 basic price)? That should keep the speculators at bay but won't it also virtually guarantee day one depreciation?

Most DB9s are still going for more than list (I've only seen LHD versions for less than 100k).

I still think £80-85k is too steep for the V8 though.

A Maserati 4200 Gransport is around £70k and has better power & torque.

Still doens't stop me wanting one though

He he, there is one on autotrader, albiet only £6 less than a ton.

I think the important thing will be that by the end of the year (when the V8's come out) there will be loads available for less than £100k.

And there is a mint condition XJ220 on the jag forum only £89k!
