Thank you, the first pictures that we have seen.
Taking away the additional disguising panels, one can almost imagine the existing Vantage. Could they perhaps just be testing the new running gear? Presumably the new car will look very different, otherwise it would not pass the Dr. Palmer's mother test.

This could be interesting, so far no confirmations were made about the new V12TT being madea available to the new Vantage.

Looks ok.
Interesting that AM have gone for the usual evolution of design and not chosen to go more for a revolution.
This was the time,if any,to go for a more radical approach.
Personally I'm quite content with that but it does nothing to dispel the comments,albeit subjective,that "they all look the same ".
I do wonder if they had been more adventurous with the styling,at least with one of the mainstream models,whether they might have sold more cars.

I'm not really a fan of the styling of the DB10.I prefer the look of the mule albeit it appears to look very similar around the rear haunches to the DB11.
I think of all the models this might have been the one to make the styling changes more radical.

The latest AMG GT, being unveiled this week, has IIRC c. 580 bhp. That's a more highly tuned version of the same engine in the lower powered AMG GTs, which is the same basic engine that we know for definite will be in new vantage. That means by definition, a range topping aston can have a minimum of the same 580 bhp and most likely, 600 bhp plus
What on earth would be the point of putting the new twin turbo V12 which appears in DB11 with 600bhp, into new Vantage ? The V12 will be a heavier engine, a larger engine (so harder to fit behind the front axle) and very similar power. Vantage is to be differentiated far more from DB11 (sports car vs GT) so performance priorities will be much higher on vantage - that again doesn't fit in with the new V12 being offered in vantage

All of this applies to the current V12 Vantage, too, except for power output which is still to be determined. telum01 said:

All of this applies to the current V12 Vantage, too, except for power output which is still to be determined. One has to assume the AMG v8 will also be pretty light as it's such a modern engine (in comparison)
As I've said, not impossible, but wouldn't make much sense, unless they do an ultra souped up 700bhp version of TTV12 late in the life of replacement vantage

That was the concern of the CEO, who went on to say, that his mother must be able to tell the difference
with future models.
However, this statement works two ways. Whether this means Mrs Palmer senior is already an expert at telling
a Virage from DB9.2 at 100 yards, or is unable to distinguish a Vantage from a Vanquish at 10 yards, we do not know.

Im sure the new Vantage will be sharper looking, more powerful / faster and will enter the digital age so to speak... I just hope AM will continue to build the 'classy muscle car in a suit' version for the likes of enthusiasts like myself!
Think 911R vs 911T; manual vs PDK, NA vs force induction, digital vs analogue...
Porsche's excuse for the PDK only GT3 was outright speed on a track... this did not gel with me at all!
Who really buys an Aston for lap records or pub measuring contests? Some of us do I'm sure... but it will be the minority. To me what perhaps define Aston Martin is in their recent Zagato Vanquish (if only it had a manual but alas I wasn't invited to buy so it wasn't meant for me anyways) ... i.e. a moving, breathing work of art!
Its like when you see a hot girl... do you think she needs a double PHD and wonder whether she knows how to sew or cook? You just want to take her out!
I was really enthusiastic about the new Mercedes electronics and engine (being an AMG fan) in the Aston... but that was when AMG meant 6.2L and before I drove the AMG GTS (which is a cracking car but leaves something to be desired / involvement). The massive screen and digital displays is great for a GT car, but I hope they do something different for their Sports car (I doubt it).
Really looking forward to seeing the new Vantage...

We all buy our Astons for different reasons.
I would hope that the Aston I buy does what it says on the tin.
Although I love my DB9, as a GT,I am dissapointed at the boot volume and the ridiculous rear seat space and the poor sat nav.
I would expect the Vantage range to be sportier and more driver focussed.
I am not too bothered if my DB9 is not the fasted on the block by a couple of seconds,but I would prefer more mpg as I would like to travel further before having to fill up.
What few would deny is the heritage of the brand and the beauty of styling and that has been throughout its many reincarnations.
