You have to wonder about what people think about sitting in the garden with a cool beer in hand watching the fruits of their labour!
"Im at a bit of a loose end. I need something to get me interested. Now I know people have done the GT40 to death but I want to do a car that is totally out there but its criteria is it has to be unloved in original form and no one bought........mmmmm?"
2 swigs later...
"Darling, can I have the keys to your iQ"!!!!

Surely the only reason to buy the Cygnet in the first place is the nice interior? Who in their right mind will buy this?
The cheap looking plastic folder with the Aston badge on that's stuck In the passenger footwell made me laugh. How luxurious.

I note from the latest Vantage magazine, that they asked readers whether the Cygnet should be included in their list of significant models built by Aston Martin.
Letters 'flooded' in from Cygnet owners, and it is now included in their list.
However for 'balance', they did publish one letter from an ex-AML employee.
Amongst other points, it was stated that all the Cygnets were supplied to dealers, for them to then find buyers.
Some dealers even offered a free Cygnet, to any customers who purchased a DBS at list price, but without any takers.
It might therefore be, that the actual customer demand for Cygnets, was far worse than we had previously thought.

With no precise market research to back this up other than my own experience as a Cygnet owner (my letter in favour was published jon39) there is clearly a rapidly growing interest by collectors in Aston Martin Cygnets. I reckon my car has risen in value by £10k in the last 12 months,,,,good old Betzie.
