AMi III - Setup Tips

Anyone know if AMi II can be upgraded to AMi III? Software upgrade or is it hardware-related?
Guys - picked up some info on this when chewing the cud with my dealer last week - he showed me prelim.documentation on the AMi II to III upgrade - although it is possible it's going to be both a hard as well as firmware update. The price on the page was IIRC £2.5k - disappointing as was looking to upgrade our MY15 Vanquish - won't be happening for that amount!Andy

Ta, will enquire with the dealer. Is it going to be a free firmware update? Can't imagine dad will be too pleased if not having forked out for the upgrade to AMi III a couple months ago!
Yes as far as I am aware it will be free. The only chargable upgrade is from AMi II to AMi III as far as I am aware.Thorburn said:
Heard anymore on this? Car booked in for October 10th for a service, but they hadn't seen any details on an AMi III update yet.
Yes I have - sorry I should have updated here. I am told the current release data is scheduled for early-mid Oct and hopefully I should be able to test it in my car a few days earlier.Vibb said:
Adam any confirmation on what the upgrade will include when finalised? I know there was some speculation around Android etc.
Your local dealer is Reading right? Or have I got that confused.
I am told Android Auto yes, but the two biggies for me personally are:Your local dealer is Reading right? Or have I got that confused.
- USB resume track on startup bug which causes the car to play the same track (the one alphabetically first on the USB stick) every time the car is started from cold.
- The restoration of the missing USB track shuffle feature
I'm Leeds, not Reading.
Useful thread from link on FAQs
As most of it applies to AMi II in my V8V - is there a single push function anywhere to skip Travel reports when they are not relevant? (when I'm away from local town/Mway hotspots).
The skip to the next track button (on steering wheel) on bluetooth or wired Ipod/media player doesn't seem to affect Travel like some cars. Turning volume/audio on & off works but is a bit cumbersome.

For me I just hot the large round button on centre console to clear traffic info, imagine it would be the same in a Vantage? As most of it applies to AMi II in my V8V - is there a single push function anywhere to skip Travel reports when they are not relevant? Still no news on Android Auto? Car is going in tomorrow.
I am told I should have it to test on my car this week all being well, so sounds like you are a few days early. If all goes well it should be on general release very quickly after that.I will update as soon as I can.
