Adam, anyone, any idea how to set the time? Daylight saving ended some time ago. So I thought ok, I’ll just go and turn off the daylight saving setting in settings. No change. Then I thought maybe it’s linked to the GPS so went in and played with the Nav system. No change. I’m one hour ahead. Can’t find any way to change it to normal time. CarPlay is fine of course but I’d like all clocks to have the correct time. Thx!
Farily sure mine just resync's via the Nav or something as I never seem to have to change mine.

That said there is a "manually adjust time" option in the main settings menu. If you dont have this option, and regardless, I would strongly recommend you go to the last bug free firmware as per the above posts.

Not suggesting our problems are linked, as I have an earlier AMi in my 2015 V8V, but can I suggest you have a scroll through the various settings in the system to see what year your system thinks it is? Because your system, like mine, should get its time signal from the GPS satellites which it then performs some maths on (satellites don't measure time as HMDMY) to work out what time and date it thinks it is.

My system currently thinks it's a different month in 2041, so it turns DLS on and off at the wrong time of the year. Apart from that the Nav works faultlessly

Yes manually adjust time just has a daylight savings toggle that doesn’t do anything. I’m on 3.0.1 so I’ll get them to update next service.

Thanks. I’ve scrolled through every option and I don’t see year anywhere. Where do you see it?

Bearing in mind that your system menus may be different to mine, but if I go to the main screen, select "Tools" and then "World Clock" I get the screen in the picture below, which was taken this afternoon.

If you look at the three locations on the left you'll see I've selected "Solihull" as one of them, which is a town near me in the UK Midlands. Look at the date and time given and you'll see my system thinks it was 17:22 on Saturday 14th December 2041 when I took the picture. There is no way to adjust this.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don’t have this on mine.

First off, Adam, fantastic thread! Thanks for sending me here.

I'll plan on getting my AMi III updated.

Just want to confirm this is the App/Base version combo you feel is most stable:
App 3.1.10
Base 1.107

I dont use the onboard Nav as there's better options through Android Auto, but still wouldn't want the system to reboot if I were to switch to the onboard Nav.

Also, is there been any documented attempts at updating the maps on the unit? Since there's no SD slot in AMi III , I suspect a 'properly formatted file structure' on a USB stick is what's needed, but haven't gone that rabbit hole yet.

Yes that is the most stable version. There is only one later version as far as I am aware which is 3.2.0/1.107 and it eas one of the least stable versions I have tried and I have had mine updated many many times.

3.1.10/1.107 is the one to go for.

I actually find the built in Nav very good indeed once setup right. It shows city buildings in 3D, alerts to speed limits and fixed speed cameras but to be fair it lacks info on mobile speed cameras like waze can do, but for me thats not such a big deal. Appreciate you may also have other critical apps that you want and use andriod auto or carplay for also.

As for updates, it seems to me that it downloads them automatically as best i can tell. Ive had my car since new (1/1/17) and never had any offical map update applied and yet it never seems to have wrong info on roads despite the endless road works and alterations. Previous nav units always seemed to have old road layouts and was a permanent issue.

Theres info above somewhere on the opensource maps that it uses if I recall, so maybe they are indeed automatically downloaded periodiclly?”

Thanks to SHIFTY and the thread below where he has been able to confirm with his dealer that the AMi III opensource Sat Nav maps are updated by AMDS as part of an annual main dealer service.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I have since had the chance to speak to my tech contact at my MD who also confirmed the above as correct.

Information added to the first page….

How does the instability manifest? I'd need to check my version but from time to time the screen goes blank, music stops etc and then after a while it reboots fully and picks up right where it left off, as though nothing ever happened.

Anyone else have this?

Exactly as you have said below....

If it is doing this then you need to get it flashed to the firmware listed above - i.e. 3.1.10/1.107

I can't remember the last time mine locked up on either car since we had that version applied.

Good news! Many thanks, Adam.

If you've ever seen the price of a new infotainment module you'll know that buying a new one of them would be ruinous.

Mine’s on 3.0.1 which works well. Only problem I’ve seen was caused by iPhone which was causing a similar thing to what was described above. Just rebooted the iPhone and then everything was fine again.

I might ask them to flash mine to the one above though in case it fixes the one issue I do have which is incorrect time. It’s an hour out. Toggling daylight savings does nothing. But that’s not really a major problem.
