Given that would be market sensitive, no-one would have anything definite that they could share...

Not in public, but here in private...I was hoping, maybe...hehe

Not really, it's all covered in the link, just thought someone might be able to confirm. Can't see why cloak and dagger stuff is appropriate in these circumstances.

An actual release date will imply the start of revenue flow, which in turn has an implication to share price. Which is why the launches tend to be "here is our product and it's shipping Monday" - it also reduces the competitions ability to spread FUD in the gap between launch and delivery.

Yes, thanks, but when it's been leaked, it's been leaked and the current fad for bloody "teasers" in other industries rather sidesteps that notion.

It may do from a leak of "look what might be coming" perspective. But not from an absolute, verified launch date which is market sensitive.

One is leaks on "maybes", the other can get people in real trouble. smile

It's not that far removed from most top end phones/tablets.

Hard to say what the base cost of these things should be. We became very used to "cheap" computing over the last decade or so...but prices across the board for premium products have been rising IMO.

Seems like a reasonable price to me considering how much a modern smartphone can do.

I’m not a massive fan of the placement of the fingerprint sensor and I’m still not really sure I see the point of an 18:9 display, I tend to like a little more screen width rather than length.

fk that. The top 256GB variant will be over £1,000. For a phone!!

Crazy money.

A Xiaomi Mi Mix will do the bulk of that - has 6GB RAM, 256GB Storage, a 6.4 inch screen, a better shaped screen, fingerprint reader, a far higher screen to body ratio, 4400mah battery and a ceramic body for around £400.

I use a phone for my business and lots of travel and theres nothing i'm seeing in the Note 8 that the Mi Mix is going to do better. Certainly not £600 better.

That doesn't strike me as the most objective review...;)

Well i'm not advocating everyone rushes out and buys a Mi Mix, because apart from anything you cant officially buy them here, but Samsung and Apple are seriously having a laugh with flagship phones now costing circa £1,000, given what you can buy for an awful lot less with a bit of effort - and people are "conditioned" now to think thats a reasonable amount.

I have a Note 4 and I haven't seen any other phone that comes close to the quality of its screen. Photos are superb.

I would hope this continues.
