Gent's

It's the dreaded time of the year again, insurance renewal. Ideally I need a multi car policy. I've tried a couple of the well know names direct and online quotes are proving frustrating.

So who are you using who actually understands Aston Martin, your help will be greatly appreciated...thank you in advance

Kevin.

www.paceward.com are the broker I've used for about 8 years now. Policy is underwritten by Zenith/Chaucer (whatever they are called these days) and have a family fleet for 2 drivers, 3 cars, 2 bikes (you can have 5 of each on it I think).

Its easy just to have a single policy to renew and just pay 1 lot of legal cover etc. You build up individual NCB per vehicle.. Very convenient. Dont need a tracker on the Aston so long as you accept a higher excess. Well one years tracker is about equal the excess so I never bother.

+1 - I have the same policy (although I have only one driver, which I believe gives me a discount on 3rd and successive cars).

Just renewed with A-Plan - underwritten by Equity Red Star. Highly recommended.

I use Elephant multi car. Have both my Astons on it and even with my rather patchy driving history and bans for speeding I only pay around £1300 for both the Vanquish and DB9V

Lockton's policies are underwritten by Chubb who are, imo the best.

We offer a Chubb multi car policy that is even better than the Locktons one with outstanding benefits.

However it depends on how much you want to invest wink

What is your company called please as might be worth thinking of next time round come re-newal time.

Its also very interesting to see and read that some owners don't really care too much as to who they insure with as long as they are insured which is no issue at all in my book. I have my other cars insured with Admiral on a multi car policy and they actually agreed this year to add my Aston to it if I wished to and only for £185 I think it was albeit NOT an agreed value policy which is why I stuck with Lockton again.

It does pay to shop around though and I will do this again at re-newal time.

Cheers

Started through a broker, to find an insurer who allow choice of repairer.
They put me with Aviva.

After a couple of years (stayed loyal for a while to be polite for their effort), I changed to dealing directly with Aviva.
There was then a significant premium reduction to about £450.
Obviously not London area.

I moved from Lockton to A-Plan. It reduced my premium by over £1,000 on a multi car policy.

We are currently insuring 4 cars under one policy, one the Mrs daily driver, one a weekend driver (M2) and 2 occasional cars (Porsche 993 and a DBS) for around £1k. No one else could even come close. These guys understand that your most valuable cars are not going to be driven all the time and tailor the quote accordingly. They have been great.

I know I'm like a stuck record but do make sure any Admiral group policy covers your choice of repairer and any factory fitted (sic) options...
