The wider sizes can be used on std DB9 as many do in the US. Not sure if this means that the”smaller” size can be used used where the wider ones are specified.

As mentioned MPSS are wider than the equivalent size Bridgestone by about half an inch (as per tire rack measurement / info). Here is a picture I found on another forum.

Agreed, I wouldn't really want to mix fitment.

What sizes do you run?
Hi Jon - I run on the V8VS wheels:

285/35 ZR19 (99Y)
245/40 ZR19 (94Y)
Some people must be running 255/35 on the front?

Going by Blackcircles, it appears my choice is...

Continental Sport Contact 6
Yokohama Advan Sport V105S

...if I want matching front-rear. Which I do!

The Yokos were rated by Evo magazine (which I did read avidly until last year) so may be the ones to go for.

Anybody else use these in all weather conditions?

Thanks!
The Sport Contact 6 are nearly every bit as good as the PS4S, other than in wear. If your car doesn't do a huge amount of miles I would pick those.

What are the wheel widths of ;
1) the early 4.7 cars.
2) the V8VS and later V8V ?

As 2) have wider section tyres, I presume the wheels are also wider.
If the wheels did remain the same, then the available PS4S could be used for V8VS cars.
Sorry - I wouldn't know off-hand. I presume they are wider in the metal following the V8VS spec around 2011.

That's very useful - thank you!

They are also around 20% cheaper so I'd have some miles to play with wink

I've had the Yokohamas on my V8V for about 10k miles and they still have a fair bit of tread left. They are a massive improvement over the Bridgestones (particularly in terms of road noise). I've used them in all weather conditions, but no track days.

I'd buy them again.

Thanks as well Simon! So the Yokos and Contis are both reasonable second choices. I can live with that smile

Four Continental Sport Contact 6 will be winging their way to AM Bristol next week from Blackcircles to get fitted shortly.

I'll let you know how they feel after I've had fun with them beer

Thanks to all for your feedback and AM Bristol for fielding my 1,001 requests!

But I've planned for some time on replacing the pirelli p zeros on my V12VS to PS4S as soon as my tyres need replacing as they simply have so many fans and I've not heard any downsides

[/quote]

Jonby, it will be good to hear how you get on with that as I am thinking the same things for my V12VSr. Just need to wear out the Pirelli's with 2 Euro trips this summer first.

You may find PS4-S less firm guys, I think. The sidewall is more compliant. So if you prefer a super firm car then they may take the edge off that for you. For our shocking roads its generally a benefit mind!

Just swapped Bridgestone for Michelin and car feels smoother, less crashy over ridges etc. Much nicer ride generally as implied above.

I'm currently running MPSC2s for DD on my V12VS and I love the tires. I did a track weekend last month and my front left outer edge is somewhat gone. I just order a set of Pirelli Trofeo R for an upcoming track event and planning to keep my MPSC2 for DD. I'll report back if anyone is interested how the new Pirellis feel on the street.

Will do! I'll be driving daily on them for a week before tracking the car. I doubt they will be in great shape after the weekend but we will see.

Trofeo R's are going to be sticky like glue on a warm summer day, just don't drive them in the rain laugh

I agree, I am in Texas so we rarely see rain but that's why I'm putting the MPSC2s back on after the track.

I recently put Michelin PS4 and PS4S's on my 2013 V8 Vantage Roadster. PS4S on the back; PS4 on the front. I also had the tracking done. It feels (i) smoother/softer and (ii) better grip. To be honest, how much of that is due to tracking and new tyres and how much is the difference between Bridgestone and Michelin is anyone's guess. I'm happy though.

Has anyone experimented with lower pressures.

I recently switched to Pilot Super Sports. Much better but I am considering dropping pressures from the recommended 36F and 38R.

I think these are too high.

For comparison the Ferrari 599 which weighs the same and has a heavy V12 up front runs at 30-32 all round on the same Michelins.

Other comparable cars all seem to run 30-34 all round.

Any thoughts

I am running mine at 34 and 36 respectively - find it a great ride - wet and dry. My mileage is 2-3k per year so have not seen any abnormal wear i.e. outside edges.

Standard cold pressure is 33/36 psi ...at least it is for my 2012 4.7 roadster, not had a problem with that, I do adjust in summer and winter as it varies
