Progress Report.
Up until this morning I had done about 180km on the PS4S. All the signs were positive, nice ride, positive steering feel and it seems improved economy.
I checked there pressures this morning, they were all 2-3PSI low and so I corrected them back to book for the purposes of this comparison. Then the family and I went out for lunch. I took the AMV with the boy and the wife took the Elise with our daughter.
The place we chose for lunch was 52km away but on some pretty torturous roads. Previously have driven this road in the Vantage, and being kind to it, I decided it was too much car for the road. In the past, I have become a little frustrated feeling like I needed to reign in the weight of the Vantage but I also decided that there was too much rebound in the suspension set up of the car so that mid corner bumps would unsettle the car throwing it off line. I now believe that the Bridgestone's stiff sidewalls have previously contributed greatly to this problem. You can still feel this characteristic but its much milder, not upsetting the car and your chosen line. I also was frustrated with my DSC, I thought it was far too intrusive on my MY2010 car and had frequently turned it off. Not today, I didn't need to. It seems too have disappeared, I drove it pretty hard and I don't think it came on once.
I can't yet comment on wet weather behaviour and although it seems fine cruising along on the A road equivalent I have no experience of the motorway blast. I have however made a verdict on these tyres. For me and the type of driving I do, on the roads around me, they are a massive improvement. To the point that they have completely changed the car. I really hope they wear well, and grip in the wet because if so they will be perfect. If I get 30,000km out of them I would be delighted.
I put Michelin PS3 on my Elise about 2 years ago and think they are the best all round tyre I have ever used on that. I'll be updating to PS4 soon. So bravo Michelin, well done, you're on a roll and I'm a fan.
How can I bribe you to submit that to a certain tyre review website? Up until this morning I had done about 180km on the PS4S. All the signs were positive, nice ride, positive steering feel and it seems improved economy.

I suspect you know, but for the benefit of others...I put Michelin PS3 on my Elise about 2 years ago and think they are the best all round tyre I have ever used on that. I'll be updating to PS4 soon. So bravo Michelin, well done, you're on a roll and I'm a fan.
PS3 are very different to the old PSS. And I believe a similar difference exists between PS4 and and P4S.
Always go with the PSS/P4S IME.

Yes but unfortunately sizes are the issue. PS4 does not come in vantage sizes and PS4S does not come in Elise sizes. I fact they do not make PS4S in less than 19"s.PS3 are very different to the old PSS. And I believe a similar difference exists between PS4 and and P4S.

PS3 has been fabulous easily the best balance of the 6 different tyres I have tried on the Elise. They have plenty of grip but transmit the road information with great detail without being harsh like track tyres I have run previously. They also don't feel like they are trying to kill you in the wet. I'm sure the PS4 will be better and so I'm in for happy days.

They come in V8VS sizes (245/40R19 front and 285/35R19 rear), and those fit perfectly on the OEM and OEM-sized wheels.I'm looking to swap the Bridgestones out for Michelins on my V8VS but they don't currently list the P4S for the fronts (245/40/19) in the U.K. So can have P4S rears and PS4 fronts or the "older" PSS all round. What are people's thoughts?
Otherwise I wait for P4S all round whenever that is, as the Bridgestones are fine tread wise just I'm not enjoying how crap the tyre is

PS4S are not in NZ at all until Q3-4 that is why I ordered from the US, PS4 are but not in V8V sizes. I'd wait for PS4S all round. PS4 and PS4S are quite different. I would think it shouldn't be to long in the UK.Otherwise I wait for P4S all round whenever that is, as the Bridgestones are fine tread wise just I'm not enjoying how crap the tyre is
I replaced my Bridgestones for P4S on the 285/35/19 rears on my car. I swapped to Michelin PSS on my previous Aston and it was such a great change... However, my fronts are 245/40/19 and the P4S is not available in that size, only in the P4 format or have the P4S on a narrower 235/40/19 size... I would like to change from the Bridgestone fronts soon, but there is no sign of when the correct size is coming available. What are the thoughts of going for the PS4 for the fronts?
I took the plunge and swapped the original Bridgestone tyres on my DB9 for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S at STS Tyre Pros. They did a great job, took great care in jacking the car up, even cleaned the wheels as well, did 2 year wheel alignment/tracking, all for under £1,000. The Michelins are far better - a more comfortable ride, quieter, grip better, and even look better. I'm really surprised at the difference.

For years now posters on this forum have been advocating dumping the Bridgestones for the PSS, with lots of skeptics. But over time it seems the skeptics have seen the light. Even the company's name told you the tires were 'rocks', so no surprise there...DB9VolanteDriver said:
