Seems a petty difference to make, but might be down to different suppliers maybe?
I think the tread plates themselves may be different between V8 and V12 (with the V8 having the 's' embossed treadplates and the V12 having the smooth ones), which may explain the difference in sill plaque fixings.

Explaining why they have different tread plates in the first place is another matter!

I get it Nick

I'm assuming he means they looked at what was left in the parts bins to get rid of

To be fair, the S tread plates were always part of V8S spec and no other car, which does explain why they appear on the V8 AMRs and not the V12 AMRS - suspect it was a publishing error that suggested V12 AMRs would get those plates too, most likely through lazy copy & pasting from V8 spec when creating the brochure without doing a proper check, although that is of course nothing more than idle guesswork

Visited the factory today to see the car on the assembly line. A memorable experience and one that made me realise how privileged and lucky I am to own such a special car.

Brilliant - it’s a really special experience going to Gaydon to see your car in build and for last of line Vantage must be ever more so . How many days until it’s through production ? Were there many AMRs on the line - understand Vanquish is on same line too? Not long now until it arrives !

My AMR should be complete early next week. Quite a few AMRs and Vanquish on the same line and a number of new Vantages at final stage being prepared as press cars. Love the look from the side and rear but I’m still not sure about the front, looks a little to plain and lacks the drama of the rest of the car IMO. Towards the end of the production line there were four Vantage’s that were still in primer which seemed odd as all the other cars were painted.

Had a great day at the factory - car was a day or so away from the marriage but saw plenty of components of my actual car including some of my Q stuff

Was great to catch up with lots of people at Gaydon - as always a very warm feeling there

Lots of AMRs on the line with a large proportion being Halo, a fair few zagato volantes and some new Vantages, many in the lime which looked really good in the flesh

Nothing overly specific to report though - more just lots of time looking at things specific to my car

not long now

can't wait !

This is the last time you’ll see her looking like this. I’ve decided to have the CF grille with lime accents fitted so she’s off to AM Bristol in the morning.

She’ll also come me back minus her secondary cats so she’ll be barking a bit better too!

Found my first negative of the AMR... It makes my Mclaren exhaust sound genuinely terrible in comparison.
