Ok, my final post in this thread.
I have no idea how you arrive at the conclusion that my comment is arrogant. Certainly not my intention. My point is more that if the buyers of these cars (and I am one) stop posting in this thread then it will effectively disappear down the timeline. There are only so many times that Hornbaek can post his same old comment (actually there aren't it seems when you look at his posting history). That's what happened to the GT8 thread (I haven't even bothered posting a picture of my car on there)
And that's a real shame as I'm sure there are many people out there who would enjoy seeing the spec process, particularly as some of it will involve AMR accessories that many will be thinking about for non-AMR cars both now and in the future (much as Adams Kermit build is very informative).
One comment just for some factual balance. The cost of a MY18 Vantage (ie the AMR) is a 5% increase on the MY17.5 Vantage (yes, I know there might be a discount somewhere). And for that 5% V12 AMR buyers are getting a) a newer car, b) the power upgrade c) some nice extra CF bits and d) a limited edition. You know what? That seems like a good deal to me, because my man maths tells me that 1) I'm getting a car that I want and 2) the AMR is likely to trade at a premium to a non-AMR like-for-like equivalent
Yes I can spec lots of extra options, but I can do that with any AM.
Final point. I come here to enjoy talking about Aston Martin's and to hopefully help out others who are thinking of buying one or have trouble with an existing one or who simply want to share photos of their P&J with people who will understand and appreciate them. Not to engage in pissing matches about how we're all stupid for buying one (I paraphrase of course, but some posters aren't too far from that).

There are always people on here looking to buy the lightweight wheels, you should get £2500-£3000 for a brand new set easily enough.
Is that £2500-£3000 for just the wheels? Do you know if the £5k option for the AMR forged aluminium wheels comes with tyres or does the dealer refit from the original?
If the aero kit is fitted how much do you think I could sell the original parts for?
Also considering fitting the mesh grill, what would the original be worth?

Great thanks for the info.
Has anyone had quotes from the dealer for fitting the aero kit?
I have been quoted £1200 for aero kit and wheelsHas anyone had quotes from the dealer for fitting the aero kit?
For the avoidance of doubt, does that includes the painting of the sills to match the rest of your car?

Thinks it's £5k ex vat and tires. So around 7k all in. hope you can buy them with Michelins!
Yes +VAT so £6k, but I'm sure your dealer would swap over your existing tyres from your old wheels for no cost. I know mine did when I fitted the Zagatos.Upperworks said:
I prefer them, as do quite a few others on here. Less noise, better grip especially in the wet or cold. Haven't driven with the regular P Zero, but the Corsa is very much suited to warmer weather!
The regular P Zeros are a world apart from the Corsa's. I would agree the Corsa's are strictly summer only tyres - lots of fun to snake the back end around but quite frankly just not suited to the UK weather cycle.Edited by AdamV12V on Tuesday 20th June 21:28
I am directing my "negative" comments regarding pricing at AML - NOT AT US DISCERNING CUSTOMERS. If it has been seen as a personal comment I apologise.
So in order to make everybody intending to spend 200k on a new car feel extremely good and vindicated I include my latest money dump project for your perusal and silent revenge.
I present to you the very sparse remains of the very first ever produced (1978) Vantage V8 Fliptail and factory car for homologation, currently undergoing full restoration at RS Williams. The very car you see in the article from 1978:

The sills are carbon fiber, but the area above the 'rib' is painted to match the body. I've had them on my car for a while now:
Hmm, I not sure they have taken that into consideration.Your motor looks a Burster
Have you changed the bonnet and front splitter or did it come like that?

I've changed quite a bit on it. The bonnet is from the V12, but with AeroCatches for safety since the front latch is no longer there. The grille, front bumper beam, front bumper fascia, and side sills are all from the GT3 and GT4 race cars. Front splitter is from VCollection. Plus a host of other things.Your motor looks a Burster ????.

Here's a better overview of what's been done to it so far:

See the pics on the aerokit on the main website (linked below) - it's in white so the CF sill rib is more obvious than on Telum's car.
Telum - Thanks that's really nice to see the pics of the unpainted CF sills. Must admit I'm quite tempted to see if they could just be fitted like that rather than part painted. Would surely look similar to how they are on the GT8/12 and therefore great, but equally not as the factory intended for the OEM aerokit. Hmm....

Style is extremely subjective but I'm personally not a fan of how it'd look. I've seen it on a few Ferraris and it just doesn't look right to me.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
