• Carbon roof panel - £5995 (on GT8/GT12)
• Carbon Tail gate panel - £1995 (on GT8/GT12) (includes the infills - so a relative bargain really!)
• GT12 Door cards
• Roll cage - AMR accessory price is £3,995 +VAT + fitting.

Project 8 starting price £150k + so will be nudging £200k once a few options are chosen,

Thanks for the price information, I think these would look great cosmetic additions but with list price heading towards £215k might be stretching things a little to far?

Does anyone know if V12 AMR is the fastest manual road car Aston Martin have produced?

AMR Vantage is either manual or SSIII and in SSIII guise it would be directly up against the GT12 which would depend on if you added Aero to the AMR or not.

Logically an AMR with aerokit would have a slower top speed than a V12VS or AMR without, and an AMR without aerokit would have a slower 0-60 than a GT12 as its at least 100kg heavier.

So if you take a specifically an AMR Manual with no aero to exclude GT12 from the equation then maybe its the fastest, but don't forget the SSIII gearbox is a manual really - an automated manual, it certainly is not a automatic or a DCG box.

Also its now easy for any V12VSM to add the Powerkit to match the AMR output, and I'm sure it would be quite easy for a GT12 owner to approach AM Works to do a SSIII to dogleg manual conversion too for not much money, which would certainly qualify the GT12 as a full manual again.

Kids playing top trumps would probably be most swayed by the top speed figure I feel, so if you want the possibility of pub bragging rights then I think you realistically need to drop aerokit from your spec to have a shot at it.

Meanwhile in the real world I think we would have to give the title of "fastest" to the GT12 - because it is still the most powerful and the lightest production AM (and it is really a manual), so in that respect it just has to win really.

AM and Q pricing works in mysterious ways, so you just have to go with the flow and make the best of it for what you want...

Drive the car and enjoy it.I just brought GT8 £50k under list done 120 miles from a man pig sick as he thought he was going to make 50k profit! Looking forward to my V12AMR which will probably lose another £50k in 12 months especially when it’s done 5k...only difference is it won’t be for sale!

List price was £219k. Paid £170k. Plenty of cars for sale which aren’t selling... so expect prices will continue to drop.

GT8 is a fantastic car not just to look at but also to drive. Not the fastest but provides a real sense of occasion, beautifully balanced and the sound of the engine is sensational. The V12 AMR might not look as dramatic but the 600BHP is a different level and provides a much faster but equally involving drive. Future values will be dictated by supply and demand. Both cars are very special and should be driven and enjoyed.

My AMR should be complete early next week. Quite a few AMRs and Vanquish on the same line and a number of new Vantages at final stage being prepared as press cars. Love the look from the side and rear but I’m still not sure about the front, looks a little to plain and lacks the drama of the rest of the car IMO. Towards the end of the production line there were four Vantage’s that were still in primer which seemed odd as all the other cars were painted.
