I don't personally disagree that its an odd choice by AM, especially as you say on a car close to the end of its sales cycle and thus one you would normally expect to get more thrown in at no cost - but AM are in a tricky position and need to make money.

The reality is ALL of the items can be added back in at a cost, some just by ticking cost option boxes and some by going to lengths to acquire parts or swapout upgrades via Q, but all are doable. Even things like Tracker that are essential to you and me are not to many, even here on PH I often see posts in similar forums (say Porsche) where people are questioning why they need a tracker and how to avoid renewing their subscription to save a few quid.

The fact is most new customers will just tick the box if they want the feature that's now become a cost option, and not if they don't see the value in it, and I would suspect almost all wont bother with the harder items such as engine badges.

It is indeed a shame when as you say, the overall trimming over the last few model years has led to a product that feels quite shrunken by the original spec standard. I don't know for sure, but I'd bet that todays King Size Snickers is the more or less same size as a Standard Snickers Bar (Marathon bar back then of course) was when we were kids! Its just the way of the world.

Your comparison reminded me of one, which is the opposite.

The alcantara console I think is nice which I didn't think of before...

Mine will have:
Carbon Roof
Carbon tunnel (all the way to the arm rest)
Carbon GT12 door card

Just looked at the new Q brochure... alcantara glove box wasn't ever going to be on my mind!

Thinking about optioning roll cage but the little graphics looks a bit suspect for rear visibility...

Sadly Ross is right but it would have been nice to have been greedy however just not possible.

assume by carbon tunnel you mean carbon top plate from front of arm rest to bottom of waterfall ? Not the full tunnel as in GT12 ?

haven't seen the new brochure - is that online anywhere ?
