With a subtle joke like the one below, you might want to read the author's appraisal of the new Vantage.
' The Vantage looks like it is wearing a face of disappointed disbelief.
As if it took a sip of it's Martini, only to discover that the bartender had, in fact, stirred it. '

Madcal , firstly congratulations - you've not left many boxes unticked. The side gill I assume you've gone perforated to match the rear ? - when I first saw the car at Gaydon was curious how both would end up after road use - cleaning exhaust tips which appears a similar coating is virtually impossible but not sure that's such an obvious issue.
I quite liked the carbon side version ( to match your roof ) although £1,000 more or so.
Look forward to seeing the pics.

Yes I think to match the rear. The CF was too much extra cash and I quite like the matt black look.I quite liked the carbon side version ( to match your roof ) although £1,000 more or so.

I go to see a real one and confirm my spec next week; maybe it changes a little.
Very excited, as I said before the design is a big change, but I am sure it will settle in with people.
Funny I also had the new TVR on order and people have had a similar reaction to that (although the new TVR did disappoint me looks wise if I am honest, I await seeing that in the flesh also).

Have you seen the Matt black inserts in the flesh? just my personal opinion but I thought they looked a little unfinished, maybe even cheap. I dont believe you can change them anyway but I wouldn't want them as gills. If you have, just ignore me.....I go to see a real one and confirm my spec next week; maybe it changes a little.

The gills are a tough one, will decide when I see in the flesh.Having them contrast is a nice design feature I think which you lose if they are body coloured. The matt ones are perforated, the body and CF ones are not.
But the matt black ones I agree in some photos don't look so nice. The CF ones are another £1,000.....
I understand the perforated ones help with heat dissipation, but at the same time there's the issue of them acting like a colander for road grime to fly all the way down the door (the DB11 struggles with this a little bit around the strake area). Carbon might work in conjunction with a dark body colour. I've only seen body coloured ones in the metal thus far (which looked good on that particular specification).

I don't think having the 'colander' holes or not, makes any difference to possible road grime on the doors.
When looking downwards at the gills, you can look through a large hole and see the tyre treads.
On the dealer launch car, there were already a few small stones lodged in the base of the gill.
I am sceptical about that marketing guff, about how there is a build up of air pressure in the wheel arches, and so the gills are there to relieve that air pressure, therefore reducing the car's front end lift.
At 200mph on the Mulsanne Straight, I could believe it (remember the Mercedes cars that took off three times), but driving on public roads, I think they might be avinalarf.
At the time we said the front of a DB10 looks like a shark, do you think it gave then the idea to fit the fish gills ?
