Does anyone have any comments on the question that I asked earlier ?
Unfortunately I think the only thing you can read into the comments in this and similar threads is that firstly not that many people have seen it and secondly those that have, are not wanting to jeopardize the relationship that led them to seeing the carNot very helpful I know - sorry !
At the front end, the mouth is slightly more open in the bottom corners courtesy of the bolted on panels being absent (as noted earlier in the thread). Other than that, it's pretty much all there already. On a related note, those who've driven the DB11 V8 seem happy with it. Enough grunt, a good power band and the right noise.
There will be some on this forum that have seen the car in the flesh, some that have seen renders, some that think they've seen it but haven't, some that have no idea what we're talking about. Fundamentally, I'd like to think we all love the brand, and in doing so want them to succeed in what looks to be a very exciting period. Leaking information and images does 2 things as I see it:
1. Places your existing relationship with AML in jeapordy. That may be with the CEO or the cleaner, it's irrelevant.
2. Will deflate and damage the impact of any future planned launch activity.
I completely understand the clamour for information, it's entirely human nature. But if you have that information, please be very careful how you use it.
2p spent.

Agree with all that you have said.
There is of course a two way game going on, with manufacturers' development cars.
Years ago, AML prepared a spoof car, and were most amused by the subsequent journalist reports.
At a large gathering, which many if us attended, an AML employee spoke in a surprisingly loud voice, stating that the Vantage prototypes would be disguised as DB11s.
Pre-launch publicity is often manipulated, to increase interest in future sales.

I remember a few year ago seeing my V12VR being built on the line with my dealer and one of the chaps working on my car completely innocently let something slip which he didn't realise had any significance (essentially it became obvious to us that a V12V with 2 pedals was being tested way before V12VS was being speculated upon let alone public knowledge). It was obvious straight away that it would have been completely out of order to share that info publicly, particularly as I wouldn't want to get someone into trouble who hadn't deliberately done anything wrong and also because as you say, it's unfair to the brand
But I did put some photos up on here of my car on the line, as nobody had told me not to, there was nothing confidential in them, I'd asked before taking the photos and others had done something similar the same week. I was politely told I shouldn't have done it.
So it isn't always easy and sometimes through sheer enthusiasm, particularly once others start sharing confidential info, I know with hindsight, I've slightly overstepped the mark
There is also definitely a disconnect at times between what the factory think they have clearly told the dealers is confidential and what the dealers think they are allowed to talk about
Going back to new Vantage though, anyone who has been shown the car doesn't need to be told it's confidential to know that it's confidential. But is it reasonable to say it's stunning/ugly/etc without giving specifics ? Is it reasonable to even say that you've seen it ? Common sense says easier to say nothing. Sometimes easier said than done.

Well said Mark. I do feel that we sometimes forget what a privilege we are given when visiting Gaydon to undertake a tour, see your car being built or one of the preview events in that we are all taken into the manufacturers confidence.
It is not unusual to see something a bit "different" at the factory but I think half the fun is then to keep quiet about it and see if it ever makes the light of day. It makes you feel like an insider and I think only builds your attachment to the brand and the whole ownership thing. I really love going to the factory so would not do anything that might stop such enjoyment.

Hmmmm
Really?
Must be great to be one of the special chosen few
But I dropped my money on a vantage earlier this year without knowing whether the new one would upstage it or be more my cup of tea
I would have loved to have had a heads up just like you all have.
So tell me. Why should I have to live in an information free world when you guys don't?

Just to add, it absolutely won't be at Frankfurt. I've just been browsing the press conference list so I can plan my Press days next week and not only do Aston not have a press conference booked, I don't think they've even got a stand this year!
That's a surprise- wonder what shows are coming up where it could be shown??Beefmeister said:
There's Tokyo at the end of October then Detroit 9th Jan. They're the two next big shows.
Detroit would be very appropriate. The Vantage concept was launched there in 2003.

However, have the Company already indicated 'before the end of the year', in media interviews?

Please accept my apologies, I didn't realise it was an issue to talk about it. With my integrity in tatters now, I'll do the sensible thing and stay off the forum.
