Seriously considering coming back to AM with a new vantage.
As a sign of the market I have been offered £30k off list on a stock car if I sign before year end,
It would be interesting to see if they would still be looking to discount the car by that much now, i'm sure if it was target led they would have even bigger targets for the new reg month in March. As a sign of the market I have been offered £30k off list on a stock car if I sign before year end,
Which dealer did you speak with? It maybe worth going back them and seeing if its the same or possibly better.
Just watched this video - predictable result - the Vantage in that silver looks really beautiful.

I was @ Works today, picking up my car. Saw this Vantage - one of a limited 6 car run. What’s special, as you’ll notice, are the new bonnet vents; they really break up what is otherwise huge bonnet and I really liked them. Apparently, it’s a strong possibility that the mid-life facelift Vantage will add DB11 style bonnet stakes.
Apparently this limited run was a customer idea. It’s a custom built bonnet which Works had to make, paint and fit.

The bonnet definitely needs something to break it up but not sure that works for me.
When you say a limited run of six cars what else, apart from the bonnet makes the cars different from general production. If only the bonnet then didn’t they just get six bonnets made.
Would also be interested to know how it impacts on airflow and cooling of the car. Any testing done do you know or is it more just cosmetic change.
I am sure AML will come up with something to improve the visuals and will be interesting to see if they follow this or do something different.

And I know Rob will be on my case for saying this, but come on, a customer's idea ? Just about everyone has said the bonnet is a great big, huge slab of unbroken metal, so it was hardly groundbreaking to stick some holes in it. If anything they simply serve to amplify the awful bonnet shut-line across the nose. AMVSVNick said:

Just about everyone
Really. Proof please.RichB said:
Oh come on, if you not read numerous posts on here and on the AMOC forum saying that the huge expanse of metal needs something like vents to break it up then you must have been living under a rock. It's hardly a ground breaking idea.
I can imagine the lively debate on AMOC about new Vantage. Perhaps you can post us all a link I do concede a few in here have mentioned the bonnet, but nearly everyone, oh come on!!!

I'll not rise to your bait, I don't want to be castigated as just being a naysayer. For example I really like the direction AML are taking with the new Vanquish Vision Concept, that is a really good looking car and for me, at least, 6 cylinders is in the Aston Martin tradition, not that the youngsters will believe me. Bonnet holes, yeah... I was one of the many or few depending upon which side of the fence you're sitting that suggested that they would improve the large expanse of bonnet, but if I had to design some they wouldn't look like the ones above. The seem too immense with the concave area being so dark, and also I don't like their positioning.
On a separate note;
The Grand Tour reviewed the Vantage on this evening's episode at the hands of Richard Hammond in the obligatory Lime Essence and he seemed to like it very, very much... The car not the colour, and Abbie Eaton lapped a much better looking China Grey one in identical time to a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and a BMW M5.
I thought the car looked terrific.

I cannot comment on AMOC but re.PH.The styling of the new Vantage has been the most controversial topic on PH that I've seen.
Now that the concept Vanquish has been unveiled I think can understand where AM were going with the styling.
The DB11 and DBSS following the more traditional GT styling, the new Vantage heralding a new direction for AM for their more hardcore sports cars.
In the flesh I think the Vantage is ok, not a knockout, and agree with the comments of Rich and Mr Tremili.
I don't think the humungous bonnet louvres are the answer, it requires a bit more consideration than that.

The new Vantage set a seriously fast time but even as Hammond is talking about how this car is different from the cars of the past and their badly fitting doors the camera is focused on the front of the new one and it’s ugly looking shut line and massive panel gap over the right front wheel. I just have to accept this one isn’t for me.

I am more of the opinion that the thinking behind the Vantage II was reflecting back to the styling of the Vulcan. Bear in mind that the shape is very much based on the V8Vantage because my understanding is that the DB10 was more or less ready when Barbara Broccoli saw it at Gaydon and said that it was exactly what she wanted in Spectre. The deal was struck and it was agreed that the car would be unique to James Bond and a frontal re-design took place to launch Vantage II. The Vanquish concept is however, forward looking.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
