Well. I was not really taken with the design of the new Vantage. And I didn't like the new engine when I drove the car.
However, I was keeping my eyes open for the convertible as AM have a history of making them very pretty. IMO the best version of the DB11 is the droptop.
Now this. So disappointing. It just has so much wrong with it it makes me wonder who exactly signed it off.
ETA. Quite like the 'opening Spring 2020' line though. Very clever

I thought when it came out that Jaguar has done a new Vantage better than Aston would. Classically pretty but with sharp modern detailing, near universal appeal of looks, a range of sonorous engines (forget the 4 pot), not the last word in dynamics but plenty good enough... According to Autocar (who are notoriously inaccurate at times!) it is an early prototype. However, it seems unlikely that some aspects of the car that have received criticism are going to change, ie the nose and the elaborate rear diffuser. I said at the time the car was released that I thought the side profile looked like an F Type and this roadster version looks even more so. As for the side vents, I’ve also noted this apparent misalignment too. It’s a fussy design and seems to work better when they are not body coloured imho. Was looking at the AM used site earlier today and the cheapest coupe versions are very close to £100k now.

I like it, but again to my eyes it does look "quite" similar to an F Type from the side (rear and front clearly not). Hey, the F Type is a cracking car so that's not a criticism, but if I'd dropped what will be probably £130k+ on it, and heard somebody say "nice Jag" I'd be somewhat deflated (no offence intended to existing F Type owners by the way).
Like Graze, the car is growing on me too (tin top anyway), however my hands will stay firmly in my pockets until nice spec used ones come into my grasp. I'd then be using it as DD for a while (think 911 alternative).
I'm sure it'll do well though, and ultimately that's all most of us on here care about. I might not lust after one, but providing enough other people do then perfect.

Really nice design and good ride and probably financial the better deal if you buy a nice second hand with low mileage, tried it before I bought my Vantage but decided against. Wanted a V8 and the V6 with the central exhaust is definitely the better design. Also it doesn’t give me that special feel - interior is ok but not special and the car will not be as exclusive as an aston being a jag - in particular with the introduction of the 4 cylinder they will be sold in high numbers. Good business model for Jaguar though!.

Gosh - a main dealer car, with what appears to have quite a few options. Probably the lowest price so far.
If that was a customer car, imagine what the trade-in price might have been, and how much the first year depreciation amounted to.
