I don`t hate the new gear knob per se, but when you consider what they have managed in the past it does look a bit like it`s not a push to imagine it`s been lifted from a Honda or Hyundai, and that`s not what you want for 150K. Cynic that I am, I imagine a Carbon, Alloy, Titanium or Moon Dust version in the spec list before too long...
Have seen worse gear knobs occasionally - but the gear knob and the pedals don't fit in with rest of car. 18 year old TT runaround in pouring rain today has much better gear knob and pedals.Mainly use 3rd & 4th in V8V (rarely 5th and very rarely 6th in UK) - dogleg box good for tracks with hairpins (on dry tracks )

The Mazda,s paint looks better than the Aston,s, is it?
Yup. Quite significantly actually.... but to be fair, the mazda’s paint is about the best I’ve seen on any car at any price. It is a bit soft though, so you have to be a bit careful. The Range Rover is also quite a bit better, but has benefited from more than 70 hours of paint correction so it’s not a fair comparison. That has absolutely granite hard paint. Almost unworkable really.
Considering it is a (significant) cost option from the Q palette, the paint is only average really. It doesn’t pop like the flips, pearls and pearlescents you get on some pretty humdrum cars nowadays. It’s an area that Aston really needs to lift its game, IMO...
I’m surprised to hear that Greg. My experience of Aston Martin paint is that it does pop beautifully. My major criticism would be that it’s incredibly soft - one reason why (since owning my first DB9) I’ve always had my Aston Martins detailed and fully PPF’d. Otherwise you only have to look at it and it’s swirls and dulls

Unbelievable, but the picture does show what you have said. I have always been happy with the paint on my Range Rovers also. The Range Rover is also quite a bit better, but has benefited from more than 70 hours of paint correction so it’s not a fair comparison.
