Disappointed to be honest.
Not a flowing design at all - looked quite promising with the cover on it! The side strakes are horrible, not sure about the strange hike up before the rear wheel arch either and the line between the badge and the name (under the spoiler) is all wrong, in fact I don't think it should be there at all. No vents on the bonnet and I'm really struggling with the 'sad face' radiator grill?
On the positive side, love the rear splitter - but it cries out for 4 pipes! The interior looks really nice but why oh why the ipad. Roof line looks really good too.
But all in all I think my V8VR just went up in value! A much much nicer beast to look at imho.
Just pictures though - need to see it the flesh really and as I keep refering back to the pictures I'm warmimg to it a bit!

Just seen the Red one on YouTube with the black carbon bits n bobs and body coloured side vents.......anyone want to buy my V8VR
The configurator is up. There are so many more possibilities with wheel design & colour, trim / contrast options, etc that the car can look very different indeed depending upon spec
I am surprised at how much negativity there has been regarding the grille. But I wonder if that's to do with angles. I think it's quite different looking at the front when standing near the car than it is looking at it front-on in many of the photos, which are taken from a lower angle. It also looks very different on a dark car, as the pronounced surround elements to the grille then blend in with the body colour more. It's been quite a while since I was lucky enough to see it in the flesh but it had immediate, positive impact when I did see it - surprisingly aggressive for the entry level version (imagine what a GT8/12/AMR version might look like !), but I didn't see that as a negative given the way they want to more clearly position Vantage vs DB11 in the range

The front not so much. Is it just me or is there not a sniff of an MX5 in the bonnet and light line above the huge radiator mouth? .
My first thought was new MX5 as well - and more than a sniff! They were always on a bit of a hiding to nothing trying to design a prettier car than the last one

But they never wanted to design a prettier car.Talking to Marek Reichman last month the design has aggression and "predator" at it's heart with cues to animals such as shark, wolf etc.
the reason why the front grill looks strange is that it is actually playing the role of a front bumper. If you look at the front, it doesnt have a defined bumper, and so that grill outline takes is place visually, which looks odd as I can't seem to recall any other car having the same design philosophy. It really does look like a concept car, which whether you like it or dislike it, is still fresh and very distinctive! I also think it looks far better with a number plate on, as it will make the gaping mouth seem much smaller.
Something that's very different when you're stood in front of the car, is how low the nose is, the result being that the gaping mouth and grill visible in all the low angle photos, is much less noticeable - like the DB11, it's a shape that perhaps isn't that photogenic, but makes more sense when viewed in the metal.

Take the badges off and is it instantly recognisable as an Aston? I know it is obviously a new model but even the DB11 (which doesnt float my boat design wise) is obviously an Aston.
That's why they now have to write "Aston Martin" in large text on its ass...Had my name down since Christmas 2016, saw the car in the flesh for the first time last month and loved it, lodged deposit immediately, I cannot WAIT to take delivery of mine in May/June 2018!
VERY spec dependant, you can design incredibly different cars with just the options list on offer. You can have the balls-out mental Lambo/McLaren fighter style shown by the green launch car, all lurid colours and carbon trims; or you can build something quite a lot more reserved and classy yet still clearly with an aggressive edge. A lot of choices.
I did have my spec pretty much nailed down but that Tungsten silver is really rather lovely... argh I don't know...

I really hope this is just someone taking the p*ss and the real, new Vantage will be revealed later.
Side-view: looks like the car's back has broken.
Rear view: far too much going-on, completely incoherent.
Front view: whoever designed that should have left the job to his Guide Dog.
Interior: Mix of Merc. & old-school TVR - in a bad way.
Dreadful.

My first impressions are that AM have made a decent fist of it.
I need to see it in the flesh to be fair.
Like most cars colour and detail can be crucial.
This base model also gives AM plenty of scope for souped up versions.
I'm with you there , sums it up nicely for me , see what's it's like in the flesh , and how it drives then sit back and wait for the S model .I need to see it in the flesh to be fair.

Stick with my N430 manual for now .
£120k base price £135/140k otr , is a completely different market than the old Vantage , current entry level at a reasonable price remains now with pre owned , which makes me think that current values will not have been harmed by today's reveal , if anything it'll make the prices stay firm for the next 12 months or so.
Good luck to Aston though , I hope it's a winner for them.
