This for me! Lucky enough to see in the flesh and was blown away.

Much more aggressive than outgoing car and the side sills and rear diffuser mixed with the forged wheels give it an amazing presence. Interior was perfect too; really focused around the driver like a cockpit and feels much more like the sports car it is. In a different league to outgoing car.

I had to have a play with the configurator - its a clever app but lacks detailed info on options and COST!

I think this is a stunning angle and it looks absolutely delicious and extremely current:

I think the interior is nice too (plonked iPad aside) and love that they kept the glass buttons whilst adding the more modern Porsche style two row transmission switches.

It gets a little more complex at the front end on this low angle so will reserve judgement until I view that angle from my 6 foot not the virtual camera's 2 foot.

That said who buys a Beetle/911/Panamera for its head on stylish good looks - no one- and this is already ahead on that...

I really miss the classic marque defining side strakes but must learn to let go and move on!

I have not yet seen the new Vantage in person but I was lucky enough to have seen the DB10 when it came through town. The new Vantage doesn't elicit anywhere near the level of lust from me that the DB10 did.

If the new Vantage had been a close mimic of the DB10, I would currently be submitting my deposit rather than cruising internet forums. My view of the new Vantage may change once I see a few samples at my local dealership but as things stand, the Vantage designer just saved me $150k plus. I currently feel no compelling need to move out of my old V8 Vantage.

Does anyone here think the car released today is more attractive than the DB10?

It’s a BOBFOC body off baywatch face off crimewatch. Shame that they have spoilt the front end because normally it is a great design feature of an Aston.

Good to see you're on form Tony.
I note your comment on arses.
Can we take that as a no then. smile

I prefer the 'eyes' from the DB10 as its unique and doesn't make one think of another marque begining M immediately. Its less 'revolution' than new Vantage but I >stuck in my ways< appreciate the heritage design cues that are kept.

You know when you open up the box of something you have just purchased, say a phone or a laptop, and it has protective plastic molding around it for protection, that is what the front and back look like to me. It seems like they left the protective plastic molding on when they took it out of the box. Alternatively, it could be that they forgot to take the car off the robot trolley that transports it around the factory during the build. Either way - yech!

The front grille is hideous, like a lot of them are nowadays, but even Toyota is toned down compared to that.

The upper rear 3/4 view has elements I quite like, but otherwise I agree that it is F-type influenced, but with some Nissan and Mazda thrown in.

They can't stagnate, so it is important to move with the times, but the pictures don't have that "jaw drop" factor for me.

Just my opinion and perhaps it might eventually grow on me... after they do their first freshening cycle of this design.

I do wish that the DB10 could somehow have existed for real as well as the new Vantage, since they’re both quite different takes on the same formula, like an athlete in a dinner jacket vs in their sports gear.
But failing that I love new Vantage and one in a toned down classy traditional Aston silver will do me nicely. In the flesh the nose is extremely low.

Agree!

I haven't seen it in the flesh either. But: Configure it as you like ... especially the front design always looks simply ugly, IMHO. A great disappointment, in no way tempted. frown

I'm sure the front will get better with familiarity , but if looked like this the whole design would be perfect.

Ok using someones configurator image then some amateur MS Paint ive done this.

or

I can handle some sort of grill but its like someone said, they left the shipping cover on it. But remember when Audi brought out the big grill and "no one" liked that and now its the norm.
Maybe there is a aftermarket opening in the making??

Was just about to post a pic of a DB10! Have one of the rear too

New car looks like an evolution of that but the DB10 is nicer I think.

The grill looks like the mouth of a bottom feeding fish! I think the car will be like the DB11 and very colour sensitive.

The interior looks heavily influenced by the Merc AMG, not sure I like those central vents either they were the first thing I noticed when seeing an interior shot the first time. The ipad, well no manufacturer has got that right yet. No one has mentioned the square steering wheel yet, that was not a good look on the Austin Allegro in the 70's either.

Film car.... has no opening bonnet..... be a right arse checking fluid levels... smile Stunningly beautiful though.... If a road going V12 manual had gone into production I'd have sold both kidneys, all my kids (and grand kids), and, although it hurts to say it, my Chimaera too.....

Here's what I went for when I did my spec at the factory, but I got veto'd by the missus. Looking at other spec combo's now.
