the car going around the circuit I think is just a demo, with a red wrap, hopefully the proper cars will be RHD
Steve, it is just a wrap demo and has that written all over it. The real cars are stunning in the flesh and are RHD. Buy some tickets, it's a mega opportunity to own a real bespoke piece of aviation and motoring art.

That's interesting! Simon why was a left hooker made for the raffle? It didn't mention that on the raffle, still don't think people will overly mind if they win a left hooker for £20 but weird a UK spec and UK raffle has a left hooker?
The car is very kindly on loan from AML. We could not spare our demo for this purpose for 6+ months. We asked AML if they could assist, all RHD cars on their fleet were accounted for, but they had an LHD and were happy to let the RAF BF have it for the duration of the raffle campaign. We had the car wrapped in vinyl, we bought the reg AM10 RED for the car and had it ready for PR photography at RAF Scampton at the start of the year. In an ideal world it would have been the actual car, but we did not have time to wait. AML have been extremely generous in their support and the car is serving its purpose. S

For anyone that missed the launch of the car at St Athan this is an unedited 15 min clip. I'm still blushing after the very kind intro from Mark Donoghue at AMOC (totally undeserved especially standing in the company of Red 8 and SAC Luke Wigman) but it was a great event and even more special for being in what will be AML's new factory.

The magazine features an early render. The later renders are more accurate. The actual colour is a dark green. I've been trying to upload a photo of the sample for the last 2 hours but Thumbsnap seems to have a fault. Will get it on here tomorrow.

Finally got it to work!

We had a meeting at Gaydon back in January to decide on the colour. I looked at 20+ shades of red with the design team. We put various painted samples next to photos of the jets and samples of both interior leathers (Pinewood Green and Obsidian leather). We settled on what is now named 'Eclat Red'. Here is a pic I took of them together:-

That shade of green is a perfect complement to the exterior, striking yet understated.

My whole family was in the mob. Even my mother. Father served almost 40 years. I passed officer selection at RAF Biggin Hill but could not fly as I am colour blind. Broke my heart as a 17 year old. Would have served with pride. Instead I fly a desk today...

This is a great initiative for a great cause. I have bought several tickets.

Fingers crossed. I'd love to win something one day, and for that something to be this.

Thanks to Sam Moores for this review on our Vanquish S Red Arrows project while driving our demo. Turn your speakers up to 11 to hear the full V12 vocal range on the S. It sounds significantly different from the Vanquish as the car has no underfloor cats, and a redesigned rear silencer with quad exhausts:-

Thanks Simon. A great demo of what de-catting the V12 engine does for the sound level and the pops and crackles. It should be pointed out that the Vanquish S has the 595bhp V12 as also fitted to the AMR V12 Vantage, so includes the revised valved airbox, the magnesium inlet manifolds, the engine remap (as all taken from the GT12 and now the V12 S performance pack) as well as the decat you have mentioned.

Do you know if the Vanquish S it has the Titanium exhaust too? I'm assuming not, but if that is the case then this in theory is how the AMR V12 Vantage should sound out of the box, so interesting to hear how close it is to cars as fitted with the full 595bhp pack AND the titanium exhaust!

Negative. Stainless Steel. In the case of the Vanquish S I'm not sure it needs any more decibels, I've already upset my neighbours with it....... cool

Hi Simon,

greetings from Belgium.

Tried to buy ticket(s) online but the website does not support non-UK postal (zip) codes, so didn't work. I called help desk and they were going to get back to me.

Maybe try to fix that little issue so overseas fans can also participate and support the fund :-)

Anyway, if I can participate and if I would win, will ask if they can make it LHD, so it will be unique and easier to drive around here :-)))

Cheers,
Frank

Hi Frank,

Red 10, the car being raffled, is already built as a RHD car I'm afraid sorry! The website is set up for UK nationals only, but you can buy tickets as a foreign national on the understanding that the prize will be a RHD UK spec car. If you would still like to enter please drop me a line on simon.lane@jardinemotors.co.uk and I will put you in direct contact with the right person at the RAF Benevolent Fund.
