Update on Concorso D´Eleganza Villa D´Este 2020 – Postponement to October 2020
Thank you Shinjuku and your Sportpack Wheels looking stunning. Are they black powdercoated and thereafter polished again ?

Cheers

It's been a long, long time since I gave the car a proper clean, so the two hours I spent yesterday were quite fun! It was an overcast day, and had rained in the morning, but was actually perfect for car cleaning—no direct sunlight and a cool temperature.

Inside and out, all spick and span.

That is a seriously weird perspective! The front and rear look seriously "bobbed", so it's a wide-angle lens. But the lines of the buildings in the background are straight.

Car looks nice, though

Nice observations. It's indeed a wide-angle lens (rectilinear, not a fish-eye) but I took the photo at such an angle as to keep vertical lines straight. Glad you like it.

Beautiful car. It was a V8 of a very similar spec that stole my heart some nine years ago. Love those wheels.

The weather yesterday was rather foggy, but climbing the mountains of the black forest brought us to some rather nicely lit seasonally-scenic landscape.

It was rather cold, at around 6ºC, but we managed to have our picnic in the sun.

The car is running really nicely, and is a joy to drive.

I do like the look of the clear rear lights; sometimes I do like the look of the red, but I rarely think the clears look worse. I still have the red set in the basement, but the clears do tend to freshen up the rear, even today. They just allow for this near-monochromatic look.

The Sports Pack wheels look fantastic and are extremely simple to keep clean. Sometimes I find myself lusting after other wheels, from other members' photos, but then whenever I see my car, especially in person, I think these wheels are great.

The black front grille also makes the car a little more "sporty" or aggressive, but is a step back from the mesh design, which requires more aggressive aero, in my opinion. If I had a mesh front grille, I would want some kind of front bumper, side skirts and maybe the later rear bumper with duck-tail and large diffuser. That's a few thousand, pre-paint. I'll be putting that money into upkeep; suspension, brakes, tyres, oil changes, etc.

For the record, to save you back-pedalling through the thread, the car is the magnificent Tungsten Silver.

Yes, very nice pics. I concur on the white lights, they were a must have when I was looking for mine.

I visited Valiant Ecosse at the Nurburgring for the car's service. I had planned on visiting Bamford Rose, originally, but since you-know-what happened, I simply didn't make it over. Then, I'd been less and less impressed with something of a priority over social media and drone-videography, rather than customer replies and transparency. They don't feel so much like the outfit I recommended so much 5 years ago, and I am cautious to recommend them at present, after reading/receiving various feedback from other members.

Anyway, Alister was superb, fit me in at short notice, and is very customer-orientated. So, if you're "in the area" (it was a 250-mile/3.5 hour drive one-way for me), then I can very much recommend Valiant Ecosse.

My car performed brilliantly on the drive (both ways), but with a fresh service, I opened the taps on the way home and saved 30 mins on the autobahn. I did pay for it in petrol, I suppose, but that's what the car is for.

Now, I have some choices to make regarding how long I keep the car, upgrades, etc etc.

I do fancy a change with the wheels (I am now on my winters) and my Sports Pack wheels are for sale...
