Great run out Buster.
Best yet with some spirited driving.

A thouroughly enjoyable cruise through the counties of Northumberland , Cumbria and Durham , taking time to admire the superb views of beautiful countryside .

Some nice cars , some good company and not a bad cup of tea at the top.

Bright skies and not a drop of rain to spoil the day.

What more could one ask for ?

Cheers for today chaps - can't remember the last time I went out in the car 'just for a drive' - good company, good cars and great roads! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I was pleasantly suprised at the genuine interest in the cars that our leather clad motorcycle riding friends showed.

Plenty of them there as well mind .

I can't quite put my finger on it, but something looks odd about that 288.

Good eye...it's not a genuine 288...proper Ferrari base car though and it gets proper use too! The owner has some awesome cars at his disposal

308 base car?

Either way, good mix of participants, looked like a good day out.

Awesome pictures and nice cars. That 570 looks small sitting in between the DB9/Virage and the V12V. Now the V12V is not a big car but is the difference really that big as in the picture. ?

The drive out originated after the AM Sunday run out to Bamburgh , I just mentioned a blast out somewhere and it grew from there.

We had a couple of waifs and strays join us in the M4 and AMG 45 then got a begging letter from another with a McLaren , then late on in the day we added the Ferrari to the mix.

I'll probably look to do another run out late September early October , keep a look out on here .

I'll be calling it the one flip flop run out.

Sounds brilliant I wasn't aware of anything like this in the North East. Will the next event be mainly Astons or are you opening it up to others too?

It's deceptive, if you compare the Wiki figures, my 570s is both longer (4,529mm (570s) - 4,384mm (V12V)) and wider (1,915mm - 1,864mm) than the V12 vantage, it does sit 50mm lower but they visually do hide their size very well.

On some of the narrow twisty roads, you do feel the extra width compared to my old Vantage, the cabin being narrower but the rear arches are very noticeable in the mirrors. Regardless, it does look tiny in those pictures doesn't it!

Interesting - as it looks much smaller in the pictures. Thanks for the feedback.

As a Lancashire dwelling owner we should arrange a four counties meet. Somewhere in the middle to make it realistic no matter where you are coming from.
