I had these made for me for my last Aston. Sparco seats, really comfy too.
Nice.

How snug a fit do you think they would they be for the better upholstered man, say, 6'1" blessed with a relatively generous "embonpoint" (chest 48", waist 44")?

You could get a set of the new Cobra Nogaro's trimmed to match your original Aston interior.

To give an idea of size I am 5 foot 10" tall and15 stone however my Brother in law is 6 foot 3" and nearer 17 stone and fits great !!

They are available in either Carbon fibre or GRP, with a fully engineered replacement subframe and side mounts although they are manual adjustment for forward and back.

If you are keen on weight saving the carbon seats give a 27Kg saving over the standard sport seats.

There are more details and images on the Cobra website if you are interested

These actual seats are available for sale if anyone is interested as I have treated myself to a new set in Carbon to match my new 2010 Vantage which has a all black interior.

With something like that does disconnecting the old seats give any issues, error code if you try and use the electric adjusters, etc, or can you just put the standard seats back in and away you go? Are the sub-frames direct from Cobra?

Adrian at Bamford Rose created a plug to stop the Airbag warning and the seat position sensor activating a fault code

If you ordered a Vantage with Lightweight seats they delete the airbag as standard although the base is still electric all be it limited.

When I decided to sell my old Vantage it was easy remove plugs, bolt original seats back in, plug in and all done there are no issues with the seat position buttons they just don't do anything.

I had a manual pump up lumber support fitted to mine and they can even do heated but I was not bothered.

I am sure BR would install them for a reasonable price if you wanted I hope this helps.

Don't know if you read Octane magazine (this month?) but Jay Leno was saying how he'd love to drive a manual Vantage but without the sports seats...

Does he mean 'sports' seats ? Probably, as they are the only seats available to the US market, however the sports seats are of course the standard, non lightweight seats
