M sport Ford ranger!

Anyone have a ranger or m sport variant?
What you think of it?

I'm thinking of chopping in my 2016 gti pp for one.

Now as a business purchase I understand I can reclaim the vat on commercial vehicles so if it's 35k ex vat but £41 with vat would I still have to pay the higher over 40k tax threshold? Or is it different taxation for commercial vehicles full stop

Cheers in advance

It's a LCV, so different taxation completely to a car. LCV rfl is a flat rate of £235 per annum.

2 things to check as regards a Ranger,

1. Unladen weight - if it's over 2040 kg its subject to lower speed limits.
2. Carrying capacity (especially if you plan to put a canopy on it. if the capacity goes below 1045 kg, then it's not classed as a LCV and subject to higher private taxation class.

£240 / month now mate but OP is talking income tax.

I've had customers have big problems with HMRC & double cabs. If you read the relevant pages online it appears that it's registered as an LCV and should be taxed as such but in reality it can be a real pain. I drove one as a company vehicle for a year and got hammered by the tax man. They insisted on taxing it as a car with super high emissions and hundreds of calls & emails got me nowhere.

I never even thought of the tax man

I was on about rfl but they're both to take into consideration
