I'm wondering what wheels people have on their silver cars... so I thought it might be handy to have a thread with pictures. I'll probably be purchasing some spacers in the very near future as these alloys don't fill the arches enough IMO. The V8S wheels have a different offset and thus fill out the arch a little more.

Here are mine on my tungsten vantage, standard but finished in anthracite:

Yes, I am aware it could well be a case of coveting what one doesn't have...

I will add that to my list of diffusers and side sills (still tempted).

I had SportPack I wheels on my Titanium Silver V8VR, with grey inners a la N400. Lovely wheels, if you can get hold of a set.

What Adam said.

Sportspack wheels really suit the Vantage. Just don't paint them black biggrin

You were saying?? smile

I did see this one the other day, with some very nice mods. I am still split on N400 or V12 sills.

You need to do what you like at the end of the day. But spending a few grand on one of the nicest wheels AM have produced, then painting them black and rendering them invisible doesn't really compute.

With regards the sills, keep them as they are. It accentuates the curves of the arches, which is no bad thing given the beauty of the original Vantage shape.

I put N400 sills on my Tungsten '07 V8V and, if I'm honest, always regretted it. The original shape is so pure and athletic I just don't think they add anything to the early cars.
I'll dig out some before and after pics...

@AdamV8V very interesting. I do like your car in both photos. I think the original design is fantastic, but can looks a little soft, for lack of a better word, from certain angles.

Why do you feel you regret the sills?

Good wheels though smile

Sports pack do look like a good option... possibly with spacers...?

Had this little sneaky shot sent over yesterday, car has been in the workshop for exhaust, suspension and wheels... Black wheels go very well on silver cars IMO... biggrin

Standard Speedlines in the standard colour for me.

When the car looks this good, au naturel, I'm happy to keep it that way.

I agree - I think the original sills are perfect as they help accentuate the bulges of the front and rear arches. The swage line running from the side strake backwards into the rear arch also helps with this 'waisted' effect - almost like a tension wire has been set behind the body panels that is pulling everything tight together. I honestly think both the N400 and V12 sills detract from this and make the lower part of the car look overly heavy.

Sometimes I think people just want a change for changes sake. I can see why people have tried to make their older Vantages look like current production models by changing sills and bumpers, but I think history will judge the Vantage a bit like the E-Type in that the Series 1 incarnation was perfection and everything else that followed was just a further compromise on the original design.
