Some dream this turned out to be, there was me thinking I've no worries dealing with 'Aston Martin'. How wrong was I? You couldn't make this up, may start another thread. I've other thoughts on original post.

Engine noise that shouldn't be there. AM roadside assistance should be renamed 'roadside hindrance'. Appalling service, truly unbelievable.
Cars going back to dealers. I'll update.

It’s unlucky but should be resolved quickly. When mine went wrong, the dealer lent me their demo car - worth an ask.

Also, it’s an 8 year old car that’s not been used properly, so stuff is bound to go wrong.

LOL, thanks but no loan car available it seems. My argument is that it should not have passed a 'Timeless' inspection.

My first Aston was a 4.3 V8V. I collected it from Derby and all was well for the first 5 miles. All of a sudden I was filling the entire road with blue smoke. Can't remember exactly but I think it was something to do with oil leaking onto the cam covers (someone will confirm as I believe it's a common issue) so I had to pull over in a lay by and await rescue from the dealership. They lent me a demo until mine was fixed.

My point is, these things happen.

Keep the faith.

My first two weeks of Aston life were a little trying, I just think it knew it was replacing a TVR so wanted to show a little 'character' rolleyes
Second day the drivers door wouldn't open from the outside and I couldn't lock it, that sorted the following week the passenger door wouldn't open from the inside and it popped up the infamous 'emissions' warning, everything sorted quickly by Stratstone Derby even though they were on wind down to close the next week, car collected from the office and a C Class left in its place, which amused my colleagues but it kept coming back with a little bit more petrol than it left.

Once you get past this... I'll generously call it a "minor blip", in your ownership, I really believe you will quickly forget the pain.

The ownership experience is very much worth it.
Even my wife is beginning to see it wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Thanks Callum but the magic's gone. Disappointment doesn't even register. May start another thread, 'why did I buy a Vantage'? I love the car (for the two days I drove it) but that's a heart thing and now my brain is kicking in and the more I look at the facts the more they don't add up and I'm proper phucked off!

Sometimes low mileage can be a problem. Better take yours for a drive soon!

Thanks. So what’s the latest? I must admit if I’d had a fault with a car so close to purchase that wasn’t resolved immediately I’d be inclined to hand it back.

haha, well, mine was at the grand old age of 7 months when I got it at Christmas, and I admit I haven't managed to used it as much as I had planned. However, even with that said I've added more than 4000 miles to it. Because, y'know, it's a car and they're fun to drive wink

Well, quick update. Richard in service at Charles Hurst is doing his best for me liasing with AM and trying to sort the car for me and updating as we go. The service from him has been reassuring and gives me back the hope of attaining my dream car.
