Any more thoughts on putting people and/or cars into each session? I'd be quite keen to be in a track day novices with large wallowy GT session, rather than a session full of international professionals in GT12s/Vulcans if you catch my drift...
You would be at less risk of a mishap circulating with drivers who know what they are doing than in a novice group imo, regardless of cars. But its not a race so shouldnt matter too much I hope. smile

Point noted, but tbh was more thinking about being captain slow, holding up the serious boys on hot laps. I'm not planning on taking it too seriously, just looking forward to a good day out.

Dont worry too much mate - I'm sure it will be very well mannered and with a clear briefing given at the start about overtaking protocol that MUST be adhered to or else! Basically its often just keep right when you have a hoolie in a Vantage approaching ( wink ) and give them the indicator to scream by! There is no way I'm hammering my 1900kg beauty around there and coming back with no brakes or tyres so exploring the car's lovely balance and having a bit of fun based around technique with accurate cornering lines for a dozen laps should do us GT guys just nice.

Jeez that is a good idea - if it feels right on the day she can have a blast. Mines a bloody good driver and really punts her 330bhp M235i around, but she's still wary of my big boat. Just no drifting though!

Just chipping in with something that we tried at the previous Aston Track Day at Rockingham.

We allocated a 1 hour slot straight after lunch for 'Novice drivers only'. What I mean by that is normally 'The Other Half' who is normally a passenger for 99.5% of the time but would love to have a drive but feel unsure/not confident on a public road.

We ring-fenced the 3 professionals that we had for the day along with Adrian from BR who provided basic level instruction to the 'Partners' and let them have a drive without worrying about normal 'Public Road Hazards'.

It went down very well with my other half fitting a good ten laps in.

Just a thought...

Excellent idea.... I was thinking about this and remember we did the same on the last one I attended.

Wanted to hop across the pond for this but I doubt it's going to happen... big relocation and buying a new house is eating up my spare cash and we'll have to tighten our belts until we recover from hemorrhaging so much money. Looking forward to the pics, though!
