You might want to wait for my next project, coming public on Nov 1st, before ordering that DBS....
That sounds good. Cannot wait for the thread...I love these project cars. On the depreciation point, I would like to challenge the others on this. Sure, I concede there will be some depreciation. But with a top of the range but non-limited edition car priced around GBP300k, I really wonder if the usual off the forecourt principle applies. Such is the demand and the desire for such cars, and with relatively limited production numbers, I would doubt that we would see substantial and immediate depreciation. Recent examples of cars like the GT3 Touring and the GT2RS, for example, are non-limited edition but special edition cars with premium prices and they have been holding their retail prices and even changing hands for values above retail if the rumours are to be believed.
The DBSS is such an amazing new product.
Anyway keep up the great work Simon. What a terrific job you have.

So how did it go?Full details about the project and the importance of this car are available here:- https://www.jardinemotors.co.uk/aston-martin/news/...
Saw the car at The Savoy last night. It featured in an awards ceremony along with a DBS Superleggera.
Both Aston Martin and Aston Martin Cambridge (in recognition of the funds they raised) got awards.
Looks a very special car.I hope it sells for a great price.
A lot of money but a bargain in comparison to what 599 Alonso's are advertised at !

You should have popped over to say hello! I was with Humphrey and one of the other Red Arrows owners, it would have been nice to have met another PHr on the night. Both Aston Martin and Aston Martin Cambridge (in recognition of the funds they raised) got awards.

With regards to Red 10, I can confirm the car has been sold to a collector. I cannot disclose the sum paid as I have been asked to keep this confidential sorry folks. I can however confirm that a substantial cash donation will be going to the RAF Benevolent Fund, which I'm sure you will all agree is a brilliant way to round off this project.

I contemplated saying hello but after admiring the Superleggera, her indoors being on our table and having just got back from Maranello after speccing a Pista and a Superfast I'm afraid it was not worth the potential ear bashing !!!

Superfast?! The car that Autocar gave 3/5 stars to? Are you sure you would not like a very special version of their 5/5 star DBS Superleggera to add to your stable? Check out the DBS 59 thread.....
Exactly why I thought it politic not to say hello !Sorry you won't tempt me away from an 812.
Superleggera is lovely but not at present.

Can't say I pay huge attention to star ratings usually, too many magazines have some kind of agenda and 3/5 stars for the 812 would tend to prove that in my experience. Re the Superleggera, to my eyes they're the best looking car Aston currently make, but Simon how do they drive - do they actually feel in any way light?Dear All,
I'm delighted to share some images of Red 10 being handed over to its new owner, Mr Mark Bailey today, along with his father Thomas. Mark collected the keys from myself, Humphrey and Wing Commander Mark Quinn of the RAF Benevolent Fund. A donation of £5,000 has been made to the RAF BF as part of the purchase. Mark intends to carry on Humphrey's good work with the car and it will be on display at a number of events next year.
Mark and his father drove the car from Cambridge back to their home in Wales, confirming Red 10 is not going to be a garage queen.
A great end to what has been an incredible journey.
