What's the gearbox like on the vanquish ? Fun and immediate or a bit slow ?

Auto Mode Non-Sport = a bit slow (but fine for every day motoring)

Paddle Mode in Sport = Fun and immediate (as is Auto Mode in Sport most of the time to be fair)

These comments apply to 8 speed, I am sure 6 speed drivers will confirm similar

Coincidentally I was looking at the vanquish on this thread last night. They are stunning cars. If my DB9 experience goes well I think I might change up to a coupe Vanquish S in a couple of years when the prices are achievable for me (need to factor in the divorce costs that will accompany the purchase).

Don’t dismiss the 6 speed.
I’ve driven both and for normal, real world, everyday use I would say the difference is negligible.

All I can say as an Vanquish owner for a little under 3 months is ... "Go for it". What a nice Christmas present to shout yourself.

I have just changed the wheels had the Ceramic Pro coat applied along with the Red accent on the front lip to tie in with the Red brake calipers.

Vanquish -- no contest IMO. Aside from the nose, the interior of the Vanquish looks like it's from a completely different caliber of car -- gorgeous instruments, bespoke metal switchgear, no iPad stuck on top of the dash, etc. And it has an Aston Martin engine.

I'm loving the degree-level Man Maths in this thread

"Darling, look Aston Martin has produced a new car called a 'Vantage' that's very expensive. So by comparison a 2 year old Vanquish suddenly looks relatively cheap, can we buy one?" biggrinclap

Gents you certainly have taken the man maths to a new level if you can get around £135k mark approved ! A degree level was mentioned I think that's more PHD level.

I bow to the experts !!! smile

Man maths worked. Struck a fantastic deal on a 2016 Vanquish volante with under 10,000 miles. Will post the obligatory pictures shortly when the weather improves. Planning to enjoy the car and decide finally on the new Vantage once I have driven it and options/ delivery times are firmer.

Great time of year to buy a soft top... will be very interesting to hear what you do when the vantage becomes an option. Congrats on the car....

I’ve been looking at these for a while, I’ve had a quick look on here but can’t see any buyers guides on spec or things to look out for?

Any other owners groups to look at?

Anyone recommend Leeds or Wilmslow as I’m in Preston?

Hopefully this pic uploaded. Some of you will recognise the dealer. Top people and a great deal.

Better pictures will follow
