Hey all

Thought I'd share a small thing I had done on the DB9.

My car came with the wood veneer ski slope and I have never been a fan of them. Its a little old school, seems out of place and mine was faded.

A friend of mine owed me a favor so he wrapped it in matt black for me to suit the colour of the leather, this was something I wanted to do from the day I picked it up.

I think it look so much better smile
(I most probably should have some sort of a similar shot to show a better comparison)

That looks so much better, looks like a nicely done job too.

I find that the wood is a bit old for the newer sports cars and should be left for Bentleys and Rollers, or at a pinch, a Vanquish.

Is that a special wrap or the same material as body wraps?

Looks great!

Did you consider wrapping all of the centre console panels?
As good as it looks, I do wonder what it would look like if it were completed all the way down to the arm rest.

OP, could you kindly correct the spelling to veneer- it would help with searching, if nothing else

Problem with that is it will cover the symbols for the heater settings

Thanks for the photos, it looks great. I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing in my DB9. I have very similar colour combo as you; parchment leather, dark blue dash top, silver centre console, veneer ski-slope. I don't mind the veneer, but it's so faded it brings down the interior.

Having seen the before and after photos I'm definitely going to press ahead with it. Just not sure to go for black or try to get a dark blue to match the dash. The trouble with that is I'm unlikely to get an exact match, and if it looks close but different it might look off.

I think the best thing to do is when you go to see the people that will carry out the work, get them to bring samples out to the car to get the best idea of what will look better.

I was certain satin black was what would look better but I asked them to bring matt black out with them also to check that against the leather and low and behold, matt was the perfect match.
