No wonder travel is excluded too. Can you imagine the private jets having to go for the Team Principals and Drivers and them flying scheduled. No chance.

Whinger Spice is now threatening that they may run out of money if the budget is not upped yet at the last race when Red Bull were quizzed how they could afford so many updates this early in the season the reply was smart arse answers like " maybe we are more efficient" - Well clearly not now your Boss is threatening not to make it to the last races of the season .
Usual circus

I had a tour of RBR a couple of years ago, and I asked the Logistics Director who was showing us around the annual budget; he said, 'There is no budget.'

Also mooted was an Audi tie-up, which would possibly necessitate a rebrand of AMR, or an Audi move for AML. Both complicated by Merc's existing F1 engine deal with AMR and their agreement for supply or engines and technology, and the voting rights they have, with AML due to their share issue.

I had assumed that Merc might buy the whole of AML. Their Mythos brand may negate that, or it may align with it depending how they align their brands.

Audi meanwhile, tried, but failed, to buy McLaren. VAG are bringing at least two of their brands to F1, either as a constructor or engine provider.

Interesting times.
As I understood it, that was for Audi to take over the AM F1 team not AM the manufacturer.

Where would that leave Stroll junior ?

Has he now justified his presence in Formula One ?
Very fast, but the family aspect tends to always remain in fans' minds.
Several other F1 competitors, now and in the past, are the sons of famous drivers, which obviously is a different comparison.

Why are VAG talking about joining Formula One for 2026 ?
Isn't Formula Electric more appropriate to their business activities during the next few years ?

I assume that if Stroll senior sold the F1 outfit to a manufacturer that Stroll junior would be part of the deal

Aramco have the option of taking 10% of the Aston F1 team's shares.
I think that pretty much rules out Audi?

They've not clarified their intentions yet but they are believed to be thinking Audi and Porsche engines only at this time. However, an Audi buyout of McLaren would have given them the car business they apparently crave and an F1 team. And one assumes they want a decent team to be associated with. Red Bull have been linked. A full works Porsche entry would be a departure from the usual sportscar focus but F1's growth means they can't sit on the sidelines any longer and the rule changes gave them the chance to get in.

Obviously any tie-up with AMR on an engine deal would be something of a conflict with AML's Mercedes arrangement, which would present an issue to address. Equally, any purchase of AML by VAG would need Mercedes's blessing as I believe they have that right written into their agreement. At least it might end the £21m being spent every year.

Entering on the basis of 'engines only' at the moment would seem slightly odd to me.

The world is increasingly not giving a toss about how good you (say you) are at making engines.

It is brand, with added brand, with a small side-order of styling, that is going to be selling cars in 10 years. Not clever ICE engine technology.

According to “How many left” 66 DBX’s were registered in the UK in Q4 2021.

UK accounts for 20% of Aston sales so extrapolating that comes to around 330 worldwide. That’s disastrous.

Is that the site?
I am confused, what do you mean by registered?
It states 465 were 'licensed' in Q4 2021.

Thanks for any input.

Yes.

399 were “Licensed” ie on the road at the end of Q3 and 465 at the end of Q4.

The difference -66 - is the newly registered.

465 is the total figure registered since launch.

It is easier to look on the DVLA website, which is where HowManyLeft obtain their data from.

I have not looked, but almost certainly;
465 is the total number registered for use on UK roads on 31 December 2021,
and 66 is the number of NEW registrations during Q4.

Thanks for mentioning this, because I did not know that the DVLA had published the Q4 data. Always a long delay.
Those numbers can now be compared to the AML 2021 Report and Accounts UK sales.

Seperately, the May UK numbers were published yesterday. Don't ask.

EDIT.
I don't know, but the long standing approximation of 20% UK, might not apply to the DBX.
The Company has always said, that the main markets for the DBX models would be USA and China.
Possibly therefore, exports might be greater than 80%.

Sorry Simon. I took so long to type, that you had already answered.
Distracted by looking out of the window, across the beautiful sunny bay and harbour, watching the ferry arrive.

226 DBX YTD in April in Europe, so I think your 330 worldwide might be light

interesting that April 22 was (marginally) lower than April 21 (covid year).

I also wonder what the 'other' was -?

The Vantage is holding up better than the DBX YoY

1 Valkyrie delivered - wow - no wonder there has been a CEO change

Oh dear.
Some significant number change moves today.

Share Price ......... Now under £6.
Market Value ...... Now under £700 million.
Loss since IPO ... Now over 97%.

Surely this very public decline cannot continue indefinately.
Something must happen.

Maybe the market reacting to remembering how good AM are at winning in a motorsport they pulled out of, in favour of one that they are, well, aren't... wink

I’d not looked at the share price for a week.

That’s a huge drop and another all time low.

Unbelievable really.
