I was looking at the new F-Type today just out of curiosity. New build on their website, top spec AWD model with 575hp came in at £109k, with lots of options. I think it’s hard to justify a new Vantage at circa £30/40k on top of that.

No need to mention thread creep Mingler. You are on topic (I started this topic). Your information did refer to an occasional competitor of AMLGH Plc.

The new F-Type does look interesting, but AML could never match prices, because of the Jaguar scale and method of production.
Jaguar sports cars are made in huge numbers on automated production lines.

Of course a Jag can never be an Aston Martin. Fancy an XK8 for £6,000 ? - wink

To Thankyou4calling
Perhaps you have to visit the main dealer showrooms for the bargain deals.

Fair enough Jon

It was just a comparison. I’ve no intention of buying one, and I understand the differences in scale and production. But I think it’s a good illustration of where the Vantage pricing probably should be. And from the discussions recently, the lowering of the price has clearly tempted people to take the plunge (plus the attractive finance deal too). I would suggest to any doubters out there, go in to a dealer and ask the question, face to face. Particularly if said dealer has a large number of stock cars unsold. It’s unlikely to be advertised via a search on the internet.

I bought one on exactly this deal last week, have say I'm very impressed with the way it drives. What interests me is how AM are going to sell cars in the future when they do deals like this, I mean who would pay full price now? Its like going to Pizza Express without a voucher code.
Put a link up to the deal and I’ll accept it’s true.
If you look in the thread " new vantage chat" there are several who have had the deal .
I didn't know you can get vouchers for Pizza Express

I’ve gone through that thread back to early October and can’t see anyone who claims to have got that deal.

I’m calling custard on this,

It’s still pub talk until a document is posted to prove.

You're either looking in the wrong place or not very hard, these are quotes from the thread...

I think I can help shed some light on recent Vantage deals, we have just gone with one !

Had choice of 5 vehicles , list ranging £134k to £151k all same finance cost. We took £151k car as spec was so near what we wanted.

Deal is 1x £1100 plus 23 x £1100 for 2 years 20,000 miles.

Cost to dealer was only £106k, finance was 5.9% fixed. Our PCP is fixed with option to buy at end of contract or just hand back . Plus includes first year RFL snd 5 years servicing .

In my eyes amazing deal for £150k car, paid similar for £75k BMW not that long ago.

Just jumped on this deal, very close to what was posted on the last page. It seemed too good to be true, especially as said the options are effectively chucked in for free. It amazed me how little the finance cost changed between a basic car and a loaded one.

I really wanted a hyper red but they didn't have any left - I also wanted the forged wheels and black pack etc so went for this - I've always loved the light blue colour on stuff from E46 M3's to the Clio 182's and older vantages.

If anyone's been to the Nottingham dealer recently, it's the car that's been in the middle of their showroom for a few weeks!

I didn't think I'd be in the market for another vantage (or ever a brand new Aston) any time soon, but I couldn't pass up on the deal. My F type has genuinely cost me around £1k a month in depreciation over the 2 years I've had it (bought secondhand!) And I have to pay for the warranty and servicing on that so even more of a no brainer!
No Custard in the photos but Shrimpvende has since posted photos of the Elwood Blue Vantage 'out and about'.

Thanks

That wasn’t £1000 deposit and £1000 a month though

Nor does anyone in that thread claim to have bagged that deal.

So I’m still waiting.

One of the people who have taken up the £1,000ish times 24 deal, has mentioned they intend to pay the final £89,000 to become the owner of their Vantage.

As I had thought, and Rob has also described, these very enticing deals must presumably be available purely to quickly shift stock. Surely it must be a temporary situation, because I would think most users of these deals only want the car for 24 months, then hand them back.

I don't know, but could it be true that many more people have £1,000 a month available, than have a spare £90,000 cash ready for the final payment ? If so, thinking longer-term. for AML to have a chance of retaining those hand-back customers, there would need to be similar tempting deals in 2 years time. Perhaps not a sustainable business model for AML. It seems that even servicing and the initial road tax (£2,135) are also free.

Lol - WTF?

If you can’t be bothered to

1.phone a dealer to verify or
2. see the other threads where other people have taken up the same or very similar offers...

...then that’s entirely your issue. I suspect nobody here gives a rats arse whether you believe it or not.

It was a genuine deal which I understand is pretty well sold out . Was only available on stock cars either in the network or at the factory . Amazing deal and well done to those who got it .

So what’s the final bill to own the car on this deal? £115k or thereabouts? Cracking discount if that is the case but as mentioned above doesn’t it make it harder to sell the cars for more than that in the future?

Paid my deposit of a grand on Monday, just signed the finance docs after the proposal was cleared yesterday and sent them back this evening. Strangely through BMW finance ? And with jct600 Leeds Aston Martin. Car has everything I “need” options wise and only went with this one rather than a white one at Nottingham as it has nicer wheels and better colour, along with bonnet vents to break up the bonnet!

£1000 in and 22 months @ £1000 per month on 12000 miles over the period and 39p per mile over that. Delivery arranged for 3/1/20.

Absolute non brainer for me !!

Congratulations, YKnot.

Remarkable deals for what presumably was listed originally at about £130,000 or £140,000 with options. Do they want the first registration to be December, so that it counts as a retail sale for AML in their end of year accounts ?

Out of interest, do you plan to enjoy your new car for just 2 years because the cost is so low during that time, or then pay the big amount to obtain ownership ?

If there are similar deals available in 2 years time, then I suppose becoming the owner of your 2020 car will not make financial sense for you.

Enjoy your Aston Martin.

Other than the fact I’m right. Nobody has got a 150,000 car with all options free for £1000 down and £1000 x24.

The guy above has got a great deal.

But it’s not what was referred to

Enjoy your Aston Martin.

I can’t wait! What a belated Christmas present. I wasn’t really in the market for a new toy......but I have admired from afar the new Vantage since it was launched. The problem with forums is that opinions on anything “new” are really to be taken with a pinch of salt, as most are just opinions based on nothing really.

I popped into AM Nottm last Friday, took one out for a quick spin, what a machine. Only ones available at £1k plus 23 were a white or grey one that was still at the factory ready for delivery, white car a 2020 car the grey a 19.5 car.
I was going for the white one as I was quite prepared at that money to accept what was on offer.
Roll into Monday, I gave Leeds Aston a call out of curiosity really....They had a deep red coloured 2020 car with nicer wheels and better spec sat there. My boy loves red cars, along with red motorbikes, so ultimately he is really to blame for me changing from a BMW S1000rr sport to a Red Ducati, and now having a red car in the garage in January.

Going into 2 years with protection of straight hand back, fixed cost motoring, and if the market hasn’t sorted itself out one way or the other, I can buy for less than the market says its worth in 2 years.

Can’t bloody wait, I have loved Astons since I was a kid.

Oh, and cheers mate !

Sorry guys, still trying to understand how this works. Are the options:

At the end of the 24 months you hand back the keys having effectively rented it for 2 years?

Or

You can choose to pay something to own it outright? If so what’s the final payment or do you have to wait to find out?

Thanks

I certainly can and indeed have earlier in the thread. I’m not guilty of going off topic.
