So was the first one really an early DB5 prototype (a DB4 with a few modifications) from Feltham development section ? Built in same borough as GT40s I, IIs & IIIs?

I don't think that was even anything to do with filming, but they might have wished it had been caught on camera.
Adjust the script slightly, maybe Bond escapes a watery grave using an ejector seat. That piece of equipment was very popular last time.
