Whilst not beyond the realms of possibility, I'd be stunned to see anyone selling the CF lightweight seats, and even more so just one of them. You're only real chance would be a smashed up Vantage, but the breakers clearly know what these parts are worth anyway.

Obviously you can buy these from AML (Works will give you a price, they happily gave me the price for a full set of Vantage Zagato wheels a couple of months ago), however I understand that they're mind blowing in price.

Congrats - pics please!

Are you sitting down - you will need to be once you find out how expensive the CF buckets are to buy! wink

Surely you wouldn't really fit just a drivers seat would you? That would look rather odd frown

There is a 2nd hand pair for sale here : https://astonmartinbits.com/models/5-V8-Vantage/pa... if the stitching and trim happens to match your car.

Don't forget to add VAT and shipping to that cost. yikes

If CF seats are really that important to you then you should have held off and bought a car with them, as I seem to recall they're something silly like £12k for the pair. Plus you'll then need to pay for them to be trimmed (another couple of grand probably) then fit them and and bugger about with the electrics.

Lovely looking car for sure, however unless you have VERY deep pockets then I wouldn't bother changing the seats. If you have the means and you really want them, then just book it into Works and they will do it without hesitation i'm sure.

Manual or SS ?

That was the type of figure I had in my head but astonbits (in the link above) quote the seats as being just over £13k EACH

Scuderia parts website appears to confirm that's more or less correct

However that is for a full seat assembly - that may include electrics, runners, etc - some of those items may not be necessary if you can use elements of existing motors etc

But regardless, new seats bought via a conventional route would be more expensive than taking a hit on an immediate sell and buying a car with lightweights

Agree far easier to find a car with LWS if they matter that much too you..

So whatever I paid for the LW ‘s from speccing a my V12S factory fresh ( which from bad memory was either £2 or £3k ) - what over a otherwise similar car at 3 years would I get in a sale price do we think ?
Absolutely no decision made to swop for a new Vantage just genuinely curious when I see £26k mentioned for seats albeit aftermarket !

Congrats - the V12VSM from JCT, Leeds I assume! wink

Lovely car at a great price, but as posted above if LWB seats are important to you then buying a different car is the way forward. I personally agree, they are essential on the V12V and S - Sports seats are a deal breaker for me. smile

I guess the issue was the cost - with only 2 V12VSM's on the AM used website with lightweights it seems he would have had to pay £18k / £21k more for such a car. Still probably justifies the cost of trying to retrofit.

As for if they add value in the future - only time will tell. It's probably unlikely, but there several of us who feel they are essential to meet and enhance the character of the V12V(S), so if enough others feel that way then it may indeed impact values. Still there are those who don't like them too.

Are these seats available from the likes of Recaro or similar

They're not a very big bucket though. I desperately wanted a set for my SLS however they were proper buckets but only 5k each

Not sure why Aston tax is so high
