Some interesting comments on handling, noise, ride and temperature sensitivity.

The current Cup 2 Connect with 240 treadwear rating are very different to these tyres. I’m in Sydney so we don’t get the same low temperatures as the UK but I have them as the OEM tyres on my M2 CS. They are great tyres. Very sticky, fine in the wet unless you are unhinged, great steering but do pick up gravel a bit.

I’m now at 280km on the Bridgestone Potenza Sport on my Vantage (245/285) and am in love with them. I replaced the original Bridgestone rocks with these. Steering is so so good. Ride is way better. The car feels lovely on them, very communicative. Highly recommended!

Had a look at some pictures of one of the tyres and I can't see anything like an asterisk or "S1" marking, so they look to me like "cooking" PS4.

So I can be sure, can you let me know where on the sidewall I'd expect to see the marking for an OEM derivative of the PS4?

I think we had this recently: OE tire markings



The best tyres for the Vantage currently available are these: Continental SportContact 7
The 245 and 285 sizes are permitted on the original 19" alloys in the sizes 8.5J (front) and 9.5J (rear) as well as on the 10.0J rear.



Michelin Pilot Sport 4S will soon be replaced by the new 5S version.

If you prefer the smaller original sizes: Bridgestone Potenza Sport (The new version! Not the outdated Aston Martin specific RE050!)

Based on the information above from Nbgring (many thanks) I couldn't see any of those OE markings so it looks like the tyres are just standard Pilot Sport 4.

The only OE tyre for the v8 vantage is the well over a decade old bridgestone. And now that that has itself been replaced, it would not make any sense to fit a tyre with the OE marking on a v8 vantage.

I think you misunderstand. I was discussing the PS4 tyres on the front of another Vantage that I'd recently driven, and jon- asked me if they were OE variants (thats any OE variant, not AML) or standard PS4. To be sure, I then asked where any OE variant marks would be on a PS4 tyre, and Nbgring provided a collage of the various OE sidewall markings which enabled me to confirm that the tyres I was discussing looked like they were standard PS4.

I wasn't even discussing using Bridgestone, never mind RE050A variants.

Thanks for checking, I was interested as in these slightly unusual sizes could have sizable modifications from the aftermarket if they were OE marked. either way, I'm glad you're happy with them

As others have said, I think the SC7 has the possibility to be the best all round tyre for the vehicle at the moment, but if you like to "drive" the potenza sport is worth a look at, especially if you don't do many miles and the tyres usually age out before wear out.

No problem Jon, but just in the interest of accuracy, the tyres aren't on my car (I'm on ContactSport 6's) but on another owner's car I had the opportunity to drive.

I also doubt the short, dry drive, the practicality of actually pushing a Vantage close to the tyres' limits on UK roads and my lack of skills would have exposed any limitations from using PS4 front and PS4S rear.
