Thanks - yes, I've looked at some self stick closed cell foam to add to the top. I just need to find a good way to cut it. I have access to a laser cutter, but concerned about gumming up the optics with this material.

Would foam be tough enough, wouldn't nylon or urethane work better?Matt
Yes, for ultimate protection, a plastic protector would work the best. (although I'd probably use Delrin, which wouldn't be as slippery as Nylon).
I could also make the whole pad from Delrin, which would be strong enough, but the cost would be more or less the same for the material.
I had a quick look under my car, and there is very little marring from the jack pads - they fit very tightly, so shouldn't really move during use.

The V8V roadster, V8V-S, V12V, and some of the newer V8Vs have the rear undertray, and require a much more intricate jack pad design. As well, the roadster has a different front undertray, and needs a different front pad design.
DB9, DBS, Vanquish and Rapide use a similar pad layout - again slightly different than the Vantage.(and not necessarily compatible) - I'd love to see how the factory handles the different vehicles in line...

FYI, I bought a set of the HSM Precision pads and bars for my 2007 V8 Vantage. With these, it's easy to lift one side of the car at a time and then lower the pads onto jack stands. Lifting the opposite side has been very secure, since the pads slot into the top of the jack stands.
My favorite part is that the pads have a pin on top with a rubber o-ring. By removing the rubber plugs in the Aston at each jacking point, the whole assembly (F and R pads plus connecting bar) can be held in place by the pins while you maneuver the jack below the middle jacking pad. Super quick and easy.
I sympathize with the tax and shipping issues. In the U.S., we (thankfully!) don't have VAT, and the shipping costs weren't too bad.

Were photos taken of the sill/tray design of the underside of the car so that I could check if my underside looks the same? "Late V8 Coupé" is a bit vague, of course.
Looks like the web addy https://squareup.com/store/hsm-precision

Hi RL17.
Have you been able to try out the jacking pads? Do they fit properly?
If so, could you give me the e-mail contact of the manufacturer. Thanks.
Not yet they've been in the car boot since last Tuesday under a load of stuff as been to Le Mans camping and got back latish last night and slowly sorting wet camping gear as showered when packing up. Phone also misbehaving all trip and need to replace that. Great time out on private site on Porsche curves and in village and way back Have you been able to try out the jacking pads? I'll try and check when its out tomorrow for a wash and post some photos
This is how my jacking spots look like (17MY V8 Vantage S Coupé):
Right hand side of the car - rear spot:
Right hand side of the car - front spot:
Suggestions for a pad solution for these very welcome. The car is due for its first service at the main dealer on July 30th and I am unsure if they care about this problem when jacking up.
Edit 26/06/2018: It is a Coupé.

two sheds is correct - the rear points are the same as the roadster. The fronts can be either Vantage Coupe, or DB9 (DB9 has the pin slightly closer to the edge of the column of the jack pad). (The roadster has a front undertray that requires extra relief on the jack pad).
I manufacture these pads out of anodized aluminum. (the initial post in this thread was someone linking to a set I have on ebay). If you are interested, my we store was noted above https://squareup.com/store/hsm-precision
Thanks,

You should try this guy he has manufactured rubber pads for me in the past and they have been perfect. At a very good price.

I’ve used him, he machined one to fit my jack when I sent him the dimensions. (Nothing to do with Aston in my case).https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/trolleyjackingpads
