There isn’t enough power in the northern hemisphere to support A large percentage of the population using EV’s 3
When ICE first came along there wasn't enough drilling and supply. Tesla now store huge amounts of energy, with their solar panels starting to see the light of day it's only a matter of time until the switch happens.HBradley said:
Back to the DBS Superleggera, anyone going to the launch on Tuesday at Chalk Farm?
Sadly I can't face another flight for a few weeks so not there on Weds. I saw the red car at Cito last week dropping the soon to be superseded blue DBS in for it's service so it seemed a little silly to fly in again Previous gen DBS was beautiful, but then it had a great baseline from which to work. This DBS has the unfortunate luck of having the DB11 as its progenitor. So, while it is better than the 11, it still isn't the looker it should be. I hope that Aston are able to find their lost beauty DNA before the next Vanquish.

Nonsense, the DB11 is a stunner in the right colourThis is not an "I dont like change" view because I still like the DBS SL, I just see the Vanquish as more WOW.

These people need their fingers chopping off. Complete aholes.I suspect those pictures were taken without approval (or someone in AM Asia thought they wouldn't be caught out).
I was talking to a chap I know from RR yesterday who said that they've found the chap that took pics of the Cullinan at the pre launch preview and have started a law suit. ID'd him from the CCTV. Watch this space..

Why?Leaked pictures like these don't hurt anyone. AM, amongst others, go to great lengths to create hype around their new products and therefore it should be expected that people will try to obtain and publish pictures of these products.
Or is it so unpopular because those invited to the unveiling event want to feel special in being the first to see the product and therefore feel a bit bummed when the great unwashed on the Internet get to see it before them? If so, that's a bit tragic.
A chunk of press / private journo / YouTube content gets filmed or photographed during the confidential viewings. Back last year some of the YT guys had private sessions with the Vantage to film their content among the confidential viewings - it's likely the same here with DBS, but normally you have turn in your mobile phone at the desk.
The issue for the individuals leaking photos will be they wont attend another confidential. As we all know, the opportunity to view a car early is on good faith, and it's poor form to let slip photos and the like.

You sign a waiver and hand your phones in. You've been placed in a position of trust, if breaching it doesn't say something about a persons character then I don't know what does. It has nothing to do with the "great unwashed" seeing the car, who cares? However people put a lot of effort into launches, I think it's only fair they get to show off the new products on their terms. Leaked pictures like these don't hurt anyone. Many folk on here have already seen it, myself included, who are not 'special' (well in their own way perhaps) and are very average Aston owners (i.e. never bought a new one); we simply had an invite from our dealer.

What a complete and utter tool. I've already seen the car MrBarry123 said:

What utter nonsense - your post says far more about yourself than it does about those invited to these eventsThe vast majority of Aston owners have a passion for the brand and even those who fiercely criticize the company vociferously on here, in fact particularly those who fiercely criticize the brand on here, do so out of a burning wish to see the company succeed
The main reason many on here get upset about those who leak info before an appropriate time is that they don't want the company to stop hosting these events, or to stop inviting regular punters (which most on here are - we don't have much in the way of ONE 77/Zagato/Vulcan type customers on this forum) to these kinds of events
There is a big difference between the open road testing 'spyshots' where to an extent, manufacturers often play the game and customer previews which are meant to stay quiet
Meanwhile the majority of people who are invited to the 'confidential' events (that's the actual name of the events) are regular buyers who have placed a deposit on the car and then get a chance to see it and spec it before the embargoes are lifted, so that production can start on the cars in time for delivery - seems a pretty reasonable strategy to me.
