Although standing completely still here, from this angle what I see is a car that appears to be travelling at 150mph,,, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Graham hi, the first 4 cars went into build this week, my car is in the next 4 starting Monday.

Nick hi,,,, you and me too! I might get a glimpse of my car at a factory visit 3rd April? If you are going to Le Mans this year you will see all 24 cars, there for the grid handover event on Friday pm. All 24 will do 2 laps of the short circuit after handover.

Spotted this nice plate (DBS S LEG) for sale on eBay, for anyone lucky enough to have a new DBS on the drive or on the way:

I'd read it as - sold his DB5 to get some cash and bought a cheap DBSS as a replacement. wink

I looked away.

An illegal detail which spoils a beautiful car.

I actually looked at this plate when the car was announced, pretty sure it was still on the dvla list, think it was just under 1k. Adjusted plates are not really my thing, but figured someone would get it for themselves or an attempted profit.

I went with a V12 *** on my car, it's a private plate, but not too much of a private plate, if you get me.

No they won't Kevin and I was disappointed to hear them. However, he is not alone in his observation re the lack of difference between the DBSS and the DB11 interior, in all honesty, he does have a point. Having said that, I disagree with his suggestion that the Bentley Continental bling is preferable,,,, not to me it ain't.
Okay, it does make for a very 'Grand' Grand Grand tourer but that's not what the DBS Superleggera is designed to be, with its emphasis being on manageable super fast performance. The Azerbaijan drag race did expose the traction control issues associated with 664 ft/lb of torque being deployed thru just the rear wheels on a wet/damp surface. 4 wheel drive would without doubt help address that issue, although it would add unwanted kilos, an area where the Superleggera beat hands down the heavyweight B/C.
So I both agree and disagree with Jezza on this one, perhaps his own weight issues are influencing his opinion, quite a snug fit in the cockpit these days!

I think you have to treat these programmes with a pinch of salt. I thought it slightly telling that he recommend his friend buy the DBS.

There’s an element here of horses for courses. If you’re buying a car to off-road, then buy an off-roader.

If you’re buying a car to do drag-racing in the wet (?) then get a four wheel drive car.

If however you’re buying the car to use on nice weekends with the odd trip to the South of France (where you’re going to drive appropriately to the weather conditions). Then the DBS seems to suit nicely.

Having said all that I would hope AML take some of the criticism on board about the interior. I know at least one buyer put off by the lack of distinction from the DB11 (and the plasticky air-vents). Perhaps spending a bit more here to make it feel a bit more distinct would go a long way to promote sales?
