2018 24hrs of Le Mans
Discussion
With a TV and two tablets, I am getting a good view from Le Mans in the UK.
TV receiving the German Eurosport channel, with sound off.
Tablet 1 - YouTube live simultaneous coverage from on board four of the Ford GTs, with Le Mans radio commentary in English.
Tablet 2 - Timing screen.
How can I put this? With 17 Hours to go, the best Aston Martin news, is that the Mk1 Vantage GTE Am car #98, has gradually moved up in class and is now running in 4th place.

Spoke too soon
Perhaps jinx does happen.
Such a shame, after making steady progress up the GT Am class leader board.
Who is there for us to cheer for now ?
Anyone for Fernando ? Great to see him carving his way past a mass of GT cars, after the release from a safety car period.
Passing on the right, passing on the left, passing on the grass, and then passing his team mate. Just brilliant.
More overtakes in a few minutes by him, than during the whole of last year in Formula One.
And they pretend that Formula One is entertainment.

You've all probably seen this already, but in case someone missed it, here's the link to the YouTube video of the AM Festival Race:

Thanks just catching up - saw the feed on big screen but great coverage apart from missing GT4 finish!https://youtu.be/HEJvpcVWBnA
Humph! That must have been a blast leading the field around Le Mans in Red 10, what a moment. You and that car are doing AM proud, and thanks for the link to the race, as I never saw it.
In those later photos I must say I am liking the scheme of that Blue/yellow GT4... who would have thought!

I think, from an earlier comment made by Humphrey, that he regretfully had to hand his car over to a pro-driver, for the 'lead the field'.
Here are two videos, which for me capture some of the excitement of Le Mans 24 Hours race.
On-board at night, in one of the LMP 1 cars. It is a 1 hour video, but a few laps including overtakes give a flavour. Note on the Mulsanne Straight, how two corner markers are passed at full throttle, then the brakes are briefly applied at the 100 metre marker. Amazing!

Restart following a safety period.

Yep, sadly the ACO wouldn't allow anyone but their driver & co-driver in the car for the parade lap but we got some good video from inside the car to remember it by & the car came back unscathed, which was a relief!
We were made to feel very welcome by the AMR staff & the Festival drivers treated us like fully paid-up members of the team, particularly on the Drivers' Parade which was an absolute hoot!
Overall it one of the most enjoyable experiences I can remember! A HUGE shout-out to Bins for all his assistance arranging it!
