Has anyone replaced V8V locking modules DIY?

Took mine in to Aston Martin Sevenoaks yesterday to get this problem resolved they had a quick look and seemed to think it was more a problem with the central locking rather than the modules as when locking with the key its only locking the drivers door and not the passenger door I don't know if this is a good thing or not will keep you updated on the outcome.

That's interesting - I might be wrong but I had a feeling that locking with the key only locked that specific door on mine. I've not got the car with me today but will try it the next time I use it to see.ETA : I was wrong - using the key does lock both doors.

just collected the car from Aston Martin Sevenoaks first the problem turned out to be the door latch after fitting the new latch it was found that every 8th or 9th attempt the passenger door was not locking so I opted to have that replaced now all seems ok this job is priced at £800.00. which I am hoping will be sorted under the extended warrenty .
Mine has continued to work since replacing the battery in the remote. I don't use the car every day, but I must have locked it at least 50 times since putting a new battery in and in that time it's only failed to lock the other door once. Since that happened I've been holding the key out over the windscreen when I lock the car and it hasn't failed since. Before changing the battery in the remote, I think it was failing about 80% of the time.
I haven't yet tried the other remote to see what that's like but I intend to swap to it tonight. I'll do a trial with the old battery (assuming it's not flat!) and if it fails with that I'll stick a new battery in that one too.

First 3 attempts, both doors locked. Then it started failing about 50% of the time.
Replaced the battery which improved it significantly, but it did still fail about 10% of the time. My normal remote seems better, especially if I hold it out over the car when I lock it - I actually only check the doors occasionally now.
I still suspect the new door modules (or something else) would probably mean I didn't have to use the workaround, but it's minimal effort and meant it only cost a few £ for a battery, so that's good enough for now.

I think the only solution is to get someone to diagnose if it is the lock or the modules, then replace them. But that comes at some cost. When locking with the key takes seconds, it is something i can live with!

The door lock latch unit is FOMOCO/Jaguar and aftermarket units are available for around £25 new. The micro switch within this unit is a known weak point on jag/freelander. I have bought a pattern part to try on my Vantage as have the intermittent lock issue. When the problem occurs the interior door marker light always stays illuminated so the car basically hasn’t received its message from the micro switch and thinks the door is still open (hence why the doors don’t lock on the fob) a good tell tale is look for the window lifting back under the seal. If this doesn’t happen the micro switch hasn’t sent the signal. Prodding the outer door handle a few times resolves this and the window rises. Now the door will lock. It won’t be this week but as and when I get round to the job I’ll try and do a walk through 👍
