I'll be approaching from Austria but will drive all parts of it and stopping to take all the views in too.
If you are planing from Austria, you should take the route via Sölden towards „Timmelsjoch“ .
Leaving Timmelsjoch via Meran towards Stelvio. Worth the way, great scenery and a very interesting Motorcycle Museum on Timmelsjoch.

Just an idea ... cheers

@ Timmelsjoch

Stelvio both sides

Forget the Quadrofoligio and get the StelvioQV !

As for the Stelvio pass, its tight and the passes over in Switzerland are much better imo.
Good idea, but we are awash with 4 x 4's at the moment. There's the Disco, the Audi RS4 Quattro Avant, and the new Bentley being delivered in early December.

No, I’m afraid not. Although I wanted one, Hubby baulked at the overall size of them when we test drove one earlier this year. It’ll be a Continental GTC V8.
Ciao.

A series of strange coincidences led me back to this thread.

While holidaying in the north of Scotland last week a casual enquiry in to the origin of the GMG t-shirt I was wearing led to the following.

The enquirer and his mate were being propped up by the bar in the pub I was staying in and, after a brief exchange of pleasantries his friend turned out to be in a similar line of work, and a supplier of my employer. We discovered several mutual acquaintances and after a few off-the-cuff comments about his company and why they were so far from their southern home it became clear that the original questioner was none other than “hubby”, the owner of the be-striped Aston, and a fellow Quadrifoglio owner.

The night soon descended in to a raucous drinking session, me with my very council Stella and the two travellers with the subject of their Highland tour – whisky.

There were several sore heads at breakfast the next day.

Well it turns out all the stories about Rosanne and Hubby are true, including that watch. I’m not giving any names here, contact details were exchanged, hung over travellers disappeared off on to the moors, and I’m sure our paths will cross again.

This is all bullst, right? Just like the rest of the thread? Well due to the lack of custard I’ll just leave this here...

Actually, we looked at Rollers too. The Black Badge Dawn is simply yummy. I tried to persuade Hubby that it would impress both his American and Saudi clients ( we are big in the bull sperm market ), but he said they would use it to wrangle his prices down.

Hubby has confirmed this remarkably coincidental meeting with Generation X as per above post. He says that they all had a very pleasant evening in this delightful pub in a small Scottish seaport, wherein much alcohol was consumed and car chat predominated.

If you've heard of Six Stages of Separation ( e.g. an American obstetrician living in San Diego
can be connected with a yak breeder living in a yurt in Anatolia, and with only six mutual contacts ), well, here are two keen PistonHeaders connected eye to eye and face to face !

Our Disco, being top of the range, of course, has more initials on the back of it than one could shake a rat's todger at, but SBL ain't amongst them.

Thank you very much baconsarney.
I must apologise for my tardy response time, however I have been busy with cliff diving in Puglia and break dancing in Zurich, and now I have a few days R&R before heading to Turkey for beach wrestling. I`m not sure what I am getting myself into with the latter, I have visions in my head that I wish would depart, of large, hairy, swarthy men, oiled up and grappling one another in a semi-erotic fashion while abrasive sand creates no end of extreme exfoliation issues.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. Fabulously eloquent, it has transformed a rather dull evening in a sub standard Copenhagen hotel with only an international women's football team for company, a dubious honour, into an unexpected pleasure. Looking forward to the Michael Bay film (and I've not heard many people say that before) to clock the DB9. Keep up the good work.
Steviebee155! Good to see you posting! I wish I had seen your comment earlier, but in case you are still in Copenhagen, the Gasoline Grill in the site of an old petrol station in Landgreven serves a very small selection of hamburgers (three from memory, one of which is vege to cater for the upwardly mobile vegan hipster, so give that a miss) that are pretty decent, rated in the top something-or-other by the New York Times, and worth a stop for a pre-dinner snack! I trust your V8V treats you well.

My dear Mr Tremlini, an apology is entirely unnecessary, although I have to confess I have been waiting with bated breath for the next installment of your amazing adventures.... You truly are an inspiration and a role model that many would be wise to listen to. As for myself, I am a simple man of modest means with (regretfully) expensive tastes. Only last week I was dining with friends on the quay front in Baia, enjoying the very best frutti de mare the area has to offer, a faint aroma of ancient sulphur drifting on the wind from the nearby phlegraean fields, quaffing an aged Barolo, and thinking how wonderful it would be to have adventures such as yourself, Rosanne, and hubby participate in. I bid you good wishes for your upcoming visit to Turkey to observe the beach wrestling, I hear it can be a life changing experience for the more vulnerable amongst us. I am off next week to watch the women's beach volleyball world championships in Florida, and at the end of the month to the Arctic to stay in the ice hotel, observe the Northern lights, and drink copious quantities of Polish vodka........ I hear there are many young single Russian women staying there.

Sincerely yours,
Baconsarney...
