I got my badges re-enamelled, the guy that did them said he couldn’t and wouldn’t sell me a new set due to copyright, however if I sent him my old ones then he would “restore“ them to whatever colour I wanted. He was a busy guy and had a 6 month waiting list. I can’t remember the exact price, but I recall it being under 400 for the pair. The quality is outstanding, beautiful. I didn’t like the green with the flag colours so opted for black, I really could care if it doesn’t correspond with the car, I prefer it.

Might just be able to see the badge here. Good excuse to share a photo though

Exquisite. Just made a thread about how those are done, fascinating.

my thoughts as well

you can get surplus wing badges in US / China / Mexico / Germany colours that were used by Aston Martin racing....no Union flags though

or carbon fibre , I saw one of these fitted to a new DBS ......stunning ....but at £1,150 each ,,a tad too pricey !!

I'm sorry but I think the carbon wings look absolute rubbish!
Each to their own taste though.

The carbon ones to the uninitiated might even look worn and just old.

I like them though, even if the price is ridiculous.

Me too. I have them on the DB11. I said on another thread that my wife thinks they look unfinished. She may have a point, but I think they look great with Diavolo Red.

I am very interested in a set of the Union Jack badges for my V12VS if anyone has any?

Buying from AM is a little expensive....

I think the Aston Martin Union Flag Badges look cool, It wasn't until about a week or so ago i see the badges on a Aston Martin Vantage GT8 that had a Gulf skin / paint / stickers design at HWM Aston Martin at Walton On Thames, I like all the winged badges.

I asked Vaughtons -makers of AM badges to restore my chipped front badge off my 74 AMV8 ; They said it could cost up to 500 UK pounds ; [can buy nearly 2 for that]

I bought the red versions from Aston Bits, all in around £400 for them both. Easily as good a quality as the original fit items.

Although fitted I'm not fully sold on them myself and may end up going back to the originals... Time will tell.

Hi Delta,

I would be interested. However your profiles doesn’t seem to allow emails.

If you could get these made would there be a market for them . And would the person making them fall foul of am legal department

Aston Martin are very protective about such matters.
Tour the badge maker and you will even see engraved on all of the dies, 'Property of Aston Martin Lagonda'.

Perhaps coded language for we cannot do it.

I have seen how they make the AM badges. It is a very lengthy and skilled process. If even a slight flaw occurs, the badge is immediately scrapped, never corrected. Quite a few scrapped badges were in waste bins.

That's perfectly normal for all tooling, which will typically be owned by the OEM. It's usually stipulated in the supply contract and, if nothing else, it makes life easier for the OEM to remove the tooling and transfer it to another manufacturer should the receiver ever be called in on a supplier.
