Hope this isn't too off topic! But as my "home" thread, I thought there might be other Aston owners who would be interested to know about this event.

Dorking Town is hosting a centenary celebration of Rob Walkers birth and the 50th anniversary of his F1 team's first win with Sterling Moss driving at the Argentinian GP in 1958.

Whist not an Aston event, if you have a wider interest in motorsport and classic and racing cars, it will be a really interesting day out.

The event features Rob's 250 SWB, which will be on display along with most of his team's historic F1 cars (one of which has been shipped from the US especially for the event). The vehicles will be parked up in a grid outside Dorking Halls and then driven for a lap (or possibly several laps) around Dorking one way system from 11:00am.

There are going to be lots of other car related displays around the town during the day including a classic car display too and a really interesting exhibition at Dorking Museum in South Street.

Having been at a meeting last night and speaking to the people who've organised this, it promises to be a great day out (and the weather forecast looks great too!)

Couple of links below for more information if you're interested.
