The paint code I was given for my Race Shuttle by 'Q' was: P1140ABB – Aston Martin Racing Green.

Best colour for an Aston - and not the retail black/grey.

Number 14 just sold on CC. I think someone may have got a bargain there. They still look very special.

Couldn’t agree more. Genuinely expected the price to start with a 3.

Amazing really, there have been a few for sale around the £250-260k mark that haven’t sold for a long time. Seems that £220k is the right price for right now. Yikes that’s a lot of depreciation in 2200 miles.

Adding on the buyer's fee, the cost appears to be £224,000.

At the handover, about eighteen months and 2,250 miles ago, I think the cost would have been £100,000 more.

£40 per mile including lapping Le Mans, worth every Pound.

This, 100%.

Having seen a video of the 4 or 5 days the original buyers spent at Le Mans (private jet, all-inclusive stay at a Chateau, AAA to AML hospitality at Le Mans, various meets & greets and, of course, the classic run-out to the cars on the grid and the lap of La Sarthe) this, for me, is genuinely money-can't-buy-tell-the-grandkids type-stuff.

If you were to put a price on that (for two people), I think £50k wouldn't be unreasonable, with makes the depreciation a slightly less bitter pill to swallow.

If I had the means, I absolutely would have done it,

I thought the ‘59 was about £350k wasn’t it?

Either way I do agree its worth a lot more in memories from the launch.

The hospitality as mentioned is priceless as a memory - and if one can afford £300k+ - then the depreciation may well be irrelevant - and even then it's only on paper unless one has to sell.

I saw £325,00 stated as list.
Aston Martin does though like Sir to choose a selection of options.
It is reputed that a standard Aston Martin has never been spotted in the wild. wink

For those of a slightly more thrifty inclination, you can of course drive a lap of Le Mans at anytime without charge.
However, take care using the racing line, because there might be oncoming traffic.

Is this heavy depreciation due to the pandemic, because 'specials' often continue to maintain a premium to norm?
Not sure whether there has previously been a pattern, but perhaps being a dealer special makes a difference.

That green looks darker than the 2009 DBS press car in AM racing green.

Love the color, looks a lot like the "sanction green" seen on many of the old zagatos.

Well given that in the new price was the private jet down to Le Mans, the hotel accommodation, the lap of Le Mans on race day and full hospitality for 2 people (I was at Le Mans last year with my son in the AM hospitality and it was a few £k each IIRC) then you can probably take £50k off the list price for the event alone.

So any car depreciation should be from sticker price minus £50k.

The cars look great but I think a big part of the ownership premium was the Le Mans event so for me I would buy one over another non special if I preferred the colour, but not for the badges.

I have a friend with one here in Suffolk and he is extremely happy with it (and loved the Le Mans event).

Let me hijack this thread for a second.
I just bought an V8S 2012 and I was not sure of the exact car colour (for instance if I need to buy a retouch paint).
So with the VIN I did two things.
1. Wrote to the Aston Martin Certifications Team who sent back to me a sort of build sheet where it is stated that the external colour is: "1959 Racing Green (Q Special)"
2. Then I registered to the Aston Martin Technical Hub and there it's stated that the external colour is: "A M Racing Green (AST1140D)"

On the book "The Definitive Guide to Gaydon era Aston Martin: The Ultimate Aston Martin Guide" I cannot find a clear answer as well.
I am officially confused confused
