Er, ‘cos its a public internet forum and aston martin have released those images.
Are you now the aston police since your filming debut?
No, not at all. Nice to see a fan though Are you now the aston police since your filming debut?
Saying something looks like a dogs dinner is absurd when you can’t see 90% of the details. You can see the basic shape and that’s it. That’s my point.
I think from what I can see from the disguise it looks great, does anyone know if it’s a 2plus2 of 5 seater?
Like has been said previously Porsche have made a fortune selling the Macan and cayenne but these have been sold to the relative masses, the price point at 150k if this is the selling price is the only negative I can see

Fair play beefy, afaik thats the shape/design and thats what I judge it on. As said above, bit pointless AM releasing pictures of something that isn’t what its going to be.Saying something looks like a dogs dinner is absurd when you can’t see 90% of the details. Well its now a lot more accurate than the early pics of the (pretty) 2 door version which I though absolute suicide for a practical 'family utility car' Wait and see time on the looks as has been said, it's disguised for gawd sake, but can't be any worse than anything similar which is currently on sale.
As a concept I'm happy they are doing this. It's a much better fit in the range than the Rapide ever was, plus AM have been more luxury than sports car orientated anyway in my view.
If it also means if they sell enough to continue with regular R&D and the subsequent model replacements, then we won't have to put up with models being kept on longer than they should, with nothing but bad body kits and fancy paint jobs being thrown at them.
I hope they sell a bucketload.

This. Apart from the body kits bit As a concept I'm happy they are doing this. It's a much better fit in the range than the Rapide ever was, plus AM have been more luxury than sports car orientated anyway in my view.

I’m not totally sure who Aston sees as the target market for these in the UK. If of course they do.
Certainly round my way, Range Rovers still remain endemic with Astons typically as second cars. The ultra premium 4x4 doesn’t seem to have really made inroads: occasionally see a Bentayga and saw first Cullinan on Monday, but most of the £100k+ metal I see on the roads is at the performance end of the spectrum.
Space for multiple cars gives the luxury of being able to have vehicles more focussed to certain roles, but I don’t really see the appeal of a DBX vs a FFRR + Aston pair. May be different for urban dwellers, but would you choose a DBX for the city?
If the market is overseas, then I get it. I don’t however see the appeal in the uk. Entirely possible that I am missing something though!

Got the register interest email today from Aston - I actually can’t wait to see it uncovered - I saw a blanket cover over something that might have been the DBX on a factory tour a while ago - I hope they get it right and sell a ton of them - I would prefer it to be more aimed at the RR velar type space than the Bentley vulgar or whatever it’s called - but I alone do not a market make!
I registered via the website the day the video came out. The MD where I bought my DB11 emailed me within 20mins to follow up and I already have a small refundable deposit down on one. It should be a great car from the info they gave me and since the bank is giving me nothing on the deposit cash anyway it’s costing nothing to keep an option open until we can see it in the flesh.
I know the SUV thing so not popular with many on the forum but for those of us with kids, dogs and lots of stuff it’s hopefully a way to be practical and have fun at the same time instead of resorting to my Disco.

I think it safe to suggest that the majority of Aston Martin owners do not use them as their daily drives, I certainly do not. However, in the case of the DBX, the probability is that the majority will indeed want to use it as their 'family' daily drive. If that is the case then potential DBX customers will want to see that this SUV provides at bare minimum, a 50/50 balance of Sports v Utility. I sincerely hope they place sufficient emphasis on the Utility aspect.
If that happens then the likes of myself, probably you Westlondondriver and many others can ditch our Land Rovers without any compromise in versatility, so important for a family friendly daily drive.

Is there an official launch date for the DBX? Sorry if I have missed it in the thread.
There has been no official announcement yet on the car, it is estimated that the first cars will go into build in Q4 of this year with first customer deliveries starting in Q1 of next year.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
