Vantage S infotainment dead / screen stuck up

2016 V12 Vantage S, AMI ii system seems pretty much dead. It froze while I was scanning for tracks on the USB, and just about the only thing that appears to still work (albeit slowly, but it never was that fast) is the satnav.
Annoyingly, the screen is stuck up and despite the car being turned on and off a couple of times it won't go down. Happily, with the battery powered down the screen has it least turned off so the battery should be ok.
Has anyone else had similar problems and any pointers on what to do? The car's off to AM Cambridge in a few weeks for a service and with a growing list of warranty grizzles, so perhaps they'll simply advise that they upgrade it to AMI iii (he muses, wistfully).
PS - I've searched for similar problems on PH and elsewhere, but without luck.

Deffo try a restart after a long power off, such as overnight. Short term restarts don't reset the system in the same way as it does after a long rest. Id say the min time is more like 15mins than 5mins but whatever works.
I'd also suggest looking into the AMi III upgrade, make the whole thing miles more reliable and stable, and also adds in some nice new features!

I cant recall the exact cost but I think it was about £1500 from memory, so whilst not cheap - not kidney donating either....

Well, the battery reset for 30 minutes or so worked a treat - thanks to all for that tip.
Bizarrely, though, the driver's seat memory and backwards / forwards controls have now stopped working. As I'd moved the seat a long way forward so I could access the battery more easily, I can no longer get in the car until I've figured out how to move the seat back.
Er... any good ideas..? I'll have a search around and see what I can find.

You'll probably find the auto drop on the windows has also stopped working, you'll need to go through the re-set procedures for the seats and windows, which are somewhere on here, probably in the FAQ section.
Ah-ha! Yes, it did. But then it sorted itself out. OK, I'll have a snout around on the FAQ for the reset procedures - thanks!

Front Seat Reset
Should a front seat fail to move or the seat memory position fails to work this may show a loss of seat position in the vehicle's memory. If so, complete the seat reset procedure detailed below:
Warning: Do not sit in the seat while you do the seat reset procedure. Seat movement will restrict the occupancy area.
Warning: Make sure that there is nothing in front of, behind, or under the seat during the seat reset procedure.
The seat must be moved to its limit of travel and allowed to stall for 1 second for each axis. If the seat is not held at its limit of travel, the seat memory will not learn this as its fully travelled position.

1. Press the seat forward button (2) until the seat is fully forward.
2. Press the seat back button (4) until the seat back is fully backwards.
3. Press the seat down button (1) until the front of the seat is fully down.

In my case, I had to do some general buggering around to get it to the point where I could even start the process, but we got there eventually, the car and me.

Exactly. The one I had lined up seemed quite pleased with the possibility of delivering my car to Cambridge. Dwarf's loss, my gain.All I need to do now is persuade my local dealer that such is the impossibility of ever trusting the clearly decrepit AMi ii thingy ever again, the only sensible thing to do is to replace it with AMi iii for an exceptionally modest sum. Or goodwill. I have loads of goodwill they can have.

I had a similar issue, I thought it was my Vanquish punishing me for putting her on the market so I could upgrade.
Went to the car this morning turned it on and no screen popped up. on off wouldn't work I managed to press the back of the flap and I got the screen into position but the only menu that would work was the navigation and set up screen, reverse camera worked.
I popped into my local indy and asked him and he said oohh thats a worry. Not making me feel any better. He did say that sometimes they fix themselves and it could just be a software glitch.
I fiddled around for a while at home and nothing, turned off and on and nothing. Manually closed the flap left it for 3 hrs, changed to the glass key went down fired her up and yippee away she went all good after a small prayer.
Thats a relief.
mine is a 14.5 build so may look into the upgraded version.
