I'd not be too concerned about SCD's membership policy, give them a ring, they're chill guys, no pretension to them.

I’m tempted by this.

I see that they allow ‘all’ models of Lamborghini.

I’d bloody love it if somebody rocked up in one of these rofl

Just canned my AMOC membership, fail to really see the benefit and the forum is tripe. Turned out to be a very expensive keyring.

the PH AM contingent might expand a little if there was more than just one category for AM posts.

Probebly the BEST decision you have made my friend. Now just enjoy your Aston like most of us do.

I went to an AMOC meet once as I had free membership via the insurer - they mostly rocked up in DD Land Rovers and there was me the newbie AM owner gleaming with the joys of the boyhood dream achieved! They wanted to discuss the spice note of the sorbet not equal length de-cat header options. Horses/courses smile

When the AMOC became the AMOC and AMHT they offered Life Membership of the Trust in return for a - what seemed like a substantial - donation. Nothing. No magazine, no emails, nothing. At events where there is an AMOC presence I ask and they are going move heaven and earth to put things right. But nothing happens. I appreciate they are two organisations but they are very closely related and suffer from the same maladies. None of it has been the same since Jim Whyman resigned.

FFS don't mention " The Barn " !!! LOL. It will only wake up all those already dead who were involved in the last scandal about that place. PMSL, coupled with the supposed " BIG MOVE " to NP which as far as I gather NEVER materialised in the end. Maybe the estimates to do it were that far off they could not get another sucker to give a large private donation again. Once bitten and all that. LOL.

It did make me laugh at the Bicester scramble last year though when the boss man of AMHT refused to park his lovely BD2/4 I think it was next to the AMOC lot. I wonder why that was. LOL. He did tell me, and said they had had a lovers tiff at The Barn and were on " coms 8 " = picture no sound. The truth hurts as they say and they didn't like hearing the truth.

That club has only one agenda and that is to preserve their long standing black tie dinner club nights and wife swapping antics at all those posh stuck up places they always use to have their gatherings at which are probably owned my most of them anyway looking for income to keep them running to the detriment of honest hard working class folk who can now afford to buy an Aston Martin which they hate. Elitists dicks the lot of them. They charge a stupid amount of money each year to " belong " so to speak and then loads more money on top of that to attend the events they put on which can add up to a tidy sum for some owners and when you arrive some prick wearing red trousers and a white coat and silly hat and a Muttley the dog medal dangling off the coat guides you down a muddy wet track on to freshly cut grass to the concours area where you then get docked points for having grass in between your tyre treads. LOL.

This all sounds most interesting. You are tempting me to join AMOC for a year, to do research.
There seems to be plenty of material here, to further my comedy script writing career. Perhaps finally make the break into West End theatre, with a comedy farce.

I joined when I was 14, kept membership up every year. Left not long into actual Aston ownership because of the staff at the club.

Lots of small things which worried me too much, but it seemed to go downhill anx ndver came back: Going on the last NP factory tour and speaking to others, some of which were neighbours of one of the staff members. Not owners, not members....

Offering to oragnise an event. They collected fhe names for me and scanned in their piece of paper to send over to me (no speadsheet???) When I asked what the numbers were, was told they were phone numbers. They were their credit card numbers. Everything I needed to commit fraud...

Bunch of clueless amateurs lead by a man who considered the club should be for millionaires, not enthusiasts.

sure, those that are taking the membership fee and pretending to run it can be responsible for that.

I don't know you Tony and have never met you BUT I have always enjoyed your wit and straight talking as well as honesty which is how I feel about certain things in life. I think Tony you should take over the running of that club or indeed form a new Aston club for folk who are just interested in owning an Aston and enjoying that ownership.

I for one would gladly join if I were allowed too of course. LOL

I don't care a toss about the AMOC anymore as IMHOP its on it arse and will no doubt fold in the coming years. Its agenda and ethos is all entirely wrong AFAIAC and continues to this day to be run by toffy nosed stuck up amatures with no common sense at all.

Maybe you should as I for one would love to read or indeed sit and listen to your thoughts. Then again DONT waste your hard earned on the OTT joining fee UNLESS of course your one of those numpty long standing members who have been claiming STUDENT RATE membership fee for years claiming to be hard up then brags about his personal collection of Astons he owned. That's the sort of elitist stuff that goes on within the closed ranks of the AMOC which they don't like being bought to public knowledge. A bit like the MP's expenses scandal. Rule for some and rules for the rest of us.

If the club ever found a new direction which catered for all ranks in life then the first thing I would want is for all those concours judges stupid uniforms to be burnt and replaced with Telly Tubby suits which would be far more fitting to their numpty ways. LOL

As a Club you get all sorts: There was once someone who bought a DB7 Vantage with an AMOC badge on the front and then proudly displayed it on his car yet wasn't a member.

Our region SE London and Kent is fine

Getting out and enjoying Astons and driving them is what its about, fine on here but far too few events

If you keep whinging about a tank and half worths of yearly subs then better of getting a Corsa or just staying in and posting negative comments to save fuel!!!!
